I am a traditionally published and Indie author that hails from sunny England (I lie, it's not really that sunny here!) I'm a hopeless romantic, so of course my main writing focus is romance. I love to create swoon-worthy males that steal your breath! I write mature YA, new adult and contemporary romance novels.

As well as being a writer I'm also an avid reader, mum to one little boy, proud chocoholic and an absolute beast at Lego PlayStation games.

If I had to sum myself up in one word, it would probably be 'daydreamer' - but unlike most of my school teachers, I don't necessarily view that as a bad thing. After all, I read somewhere once that books are like waking dreams...

Fighting To Be Free is the first book I have read by Kirsty Moseley and it won't be the last. Fighting To Be Free delivered a heartbreaking story of a young man at a disadvantage who had a sincere heart of gold and a strong desire to be a better person. He was a victim of the life he was born into. His choices were taken away from him at an early age. He was in survival mode his entire life. He had regrets and life long scars that he would carry in his soul the rest of his life. Jamie Cole is a survivor and is determined to live the rest of his life on the right path. His new beginning started the day he was released from the juvenile facility. Fate had a different plan for Jamie.

Jamie Cole spent four years in juvie for murder. Because he was a fourteen year old minor and a victim of domestic violence, the courts prosecuted him as a minor rather than an adult. The murder he committed was not a premeditated crime, it was an act of passion brought on by emotional distress. He had been a criminal and a thief since he was eleven. He was drawn into a life of crime to survive in the world he was born. His family life was pathetic. His father was dead, his mother was a drug addict, and his little sister was just as much a victim of their life as he was. He would do anything to protect his sister and make her life easier than his own.

Being in prison for four years changed Jamie. At eighteen he was finally getting his freedom. He was being released on parole. The conditions of his parole were cut and dry. He had to get a job, find a home, and stay out of trouble. His future prospects are very limited with only a little money in his pocket , a limited education, no job training, and a criminal record. He's been set up in an apartment in the sketchy part of town where he came from. His former crime lord boss wants him back in the fold. He wants him to start stealing high end cars once again. Jamie's trapped because once you are in Brett Reyes employ the only way out is death. Jamie's determined to live crime free even if it means death.

After negotiations with Brett, Jamie is almost free. He struggles in his new life. Finally he finds a break when he visits a local junkyard. It's the beginning he was hoping for. He also meets a girl that no only reinforces his will to stay crime free, she makes him want to be a better man. He has never had the opportunity to date a girl from the right side of town that has morals and a good life. He wants to be the kind of man she can be proud of. He wants to give her the world.

Ellie Pearce has been bogged down with her life. She has finally gotten up the nerve to break off with her controlling jock boyfriend. She's tired of being controlled and forced into a position of being the perfect cheerleader girlfriend. Her parents are pushing her towards colleges she has no interest in. Her mother wants her to stay with her boyfriend because he's from a prominent family. She just wants the freedom to be herself. She has a desire to travel and see the world before she has to make choices about her adult life. Her first night out after breaking off with her boyfriend will change her senior year. She met a guy who is more than a hook up or rebound guy. He's everything. She can be herself with him. He admires her dreams and wants her to go after them.

Fate has a different plan for Jamie and Ellie. Jamie's past life comes back to haunt them. Jamie is fearful for Ellie. He will do anything to keep her safe even if means returning back into the criminal he once was. This time he's doing it for Ellie. He is going to give her the world even if it means sacrificing himself.

This book just ripped me apart. As a mature adult I could see the validity in this story. Life isn't always good, it can be downright cruel with a some good moments that make it worth going on. It's not easy to rise above the past nor is it easy to escape upbringing. As a mother my heart bled for Jamie. Most parents want to give their children opportunities they never had. They want to nurture, protect, and love their children. They are willing to sacrifice for their children. They want their children to succeed in life. Jamie never had that. He never had anyone fight for him until he met Ellie.

Although this book had a heartbreaking ending, it's not the end of Jamie and Ellie's story. They are just at the beginning of their adult lives. The test of time is going to determine their fate. They have just begun their journey. I can't wait for their next step in the journey called life.

And Jamie Cole most definitely has some demons that know how to swim. After years of living a questionable past, he is out to do good and start with a clean slate. He seems to be making the right choices and his life begins to shift towards the path of good, but suddenly, his simple plan has to go be interrupted by Ellie Pierce had to cross paths with him. Ellie is the hammer that shatters the glass protecting him as all the walls Jamie had built up come crashing down. Her wit, energy, spirit, heart, and most importantly, her love for him, takes everything he ever thought about life and brought forth something incredibly different. Just when their bond begins to form, the demons of the past surface and challenge that bond. Will Jamie give in to the demons that have been holding captive for so long or will he lose everything in his journey Fighting to Be Free..........
This book is written so beautifully that only Kristy Moseley could write. The ability to take a story and have it told between two prominent characters in this story, is incredibly played out with the insight of all angles. This story will make you cheering for the underdog til no words can escape. You will cry and you will be outraged. This story is filled for anyone who's ever felt like they are not good enough to deserve happiness with an underlining truth that everyone, no matter what, deserves to feel like they're worth it. Fabulous book with a promise with a sequel that equally lives up to this book which I am excited to be reading soon....

I’ve read this book on Wattpad initially, and I liked it right then and there. It did, however, broke my heart that the ending was such a cliffhanger. I’m not really good with waiting for the next book in the series to come out.
So imagine my surprise and excitement when Kirsty announce that the book will be published. And to top it off, the sequel will be coming out just a couple of months after. So here I was, reading it again despite the fact that I know that it will take me three more months or so to actually read the second book.
And much to my delight, I received a gifted copy for an honest review.
I love how the story was written that even though I have read the book previously, it still kept me on the edge of my seat. It’s good that it didn’t veer far off from the original plot. And the dual POV made the story much more interesting to read. But a guy’s POV would’ve been nice too. (But maybe that’s just me, as I’m such a sucker to get into the head of a book boyfriend).
The characters are just so easy to love and it’s as easy to feel them as well. I also loved the additional content. It just made me love Jaime more and had himself added on the book boyfriend list.
Although, I’d only give this book a 4 out of 5 stars. I think I’m still looking for more heart-breaking scenes; something that would have me bawling my eyes out and in need of a breather. Nonetheless, this book is still highly recommended, especially if you are in a search for a new book boyfriend.
