This tarp is exactly what I was looking for as a quick shelter camping tarp. It comes neatly packed in a water resistant bag and takes up very little space which works out nicely if you intend on taking a small pack on your adventure. The layout of the 9 reinforced grommets, 8 around the sides and one in the middle, makes this model very versatile as to how you would like to set it up as a shelter. The size is easily large enough to comfortably fit 2 people and gear. The construction is especially noteworthy. Each grommet is punched through a nylon reinforcement patch/loop at every instance. Do not set up too close to a fire, the falling embers will melt right through almost instantly. The day after the order was placed I received a phone call from the company asking me which color (black or green) I would like. I didn't specify at the time I ordered because it was listed as only having black in stock, but because of the courtesy call I was able to get the green version that I wanted. The Terra Nova Adventure Tarp 2 Person is definitely worth the price and I highly recommend it.

This is a fantastic tarp I use it for my hammock set up. It's only a few ounces heavier than an equivalent silnylon tarp but half the price. I did not get Silnylon because I will occassionally use the tarp as a ground bivy when I'm above the tree line and no place to hang my hammock. The fabric on this tarp is far more robust than the ultrathin nylon commonly used in silnylon tarps. The tabs, reinforcing and grommets are extremely strong and will not rip out of the fabric. Although the tarp packs down relatively small it won't get as small as a comparative silnylon tarp due to the thicker nylon. The tarp comes packed in its own bag 3" diameter by 20" long, I usually ditch the bag and roll it up even smaller, I could probably jam it into a nalgene bottle if I had to. The color is dark green as shown and is retangular 10' x 8'. Best tarp for the money. I think it's made in the UK but not sure.

This is a sweet tarp. A bit short of the claimed 8x10, but not by much. Very well constructed of a durable, reliable material. Tie-outs are well reinforced. Black is not necessarily a favorite of mine, but with all this function who cares about cosmetics? You won't be disappointed. AND in response to that b kuhl guy, the Competition 2 weighs 19,5 ounces, this one is 24 ounces. Pack mule? What a wuss.

Update. It WAS a great value, but, since the price has increased, you'd be better served paying the extra few dollars and getting an Aqua Quest. http://www.amazon.com/Aqua-Quest-Guide-Sil-Tarp/dp/B004RVHBLO?ie=UTF8&keywords=aqua%20quest%20tarp&qid=1460561128&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1 Much better rain repellance. 4,000 vs 20,000 mm HH.

I have this tarp and the "Competition" version from the same company. I prefer the other model due to the lighter weight for backpacking, but that one is much more expensive. This one is a good deal and very well made (i.e. durable). If you are a pack mule or just car camping, I would choose this one. If you want a lightweight version and are willing to spend the money, go "Competition."

The tarp works well. I have used it while camping. The quality seem to be very good. I plan to use it camping a lot more this year. The tie off areas are reinforced so it should last.

Used it on the Appalachian Trail with my hammock and it worked perfectly! The tarp performed just as advertised, and I know, it rained the whole time I was on the trail and when I was lying in my hammock at night. I would recommend this tarp to anyone looking to keep dry in the outdoors!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great budget tarp
Reviewed in Canada on May 4, 2015
Great budget tarp! Not too sure why it says "Black" in the name as the tarp is a darker shade of green, but I definitely prefer the green. Strong tie out points and grommets to insert trekking poles of sticks. I spent two nights under this tarp and on the second night I got about 5 hours of steady downpour and strong winds. I had the front propped up in the middle and all sides staked down. I used the middle tie-out point to secure it to a tree to give me more room and stability. The tarp handled wonderfully!

First tarp I've owned and very pleased with it. Good fun to play with the dozen configurations I've tried. Used it as a cooking/eating area on a week's camp and it worked very well in combination with my Terra Nova Super Quasar. Very pleased with it. Pack size is very small. Be aware, there are no guy lines provided.

Not at all like what's advertised , very poor photograph / advert it's more like a bright apple green ! and also a lot of time wasted returning and explaining / emailing Millets customer service agent to get full refund including my postage nightmare .
Beware not as shown in image .
