I might have to buy another of these while I can and store it, even though I have a feeling this chair won't break as quickly as others I've had.
Now to the ASSEMBLY INJURY:
When sliding part number 11, the BACKREST POST into part number 7 the BACKREST, if you hold the backrest at the center of the "Y" part of it, with your fingers gripping around it and into the recesses in the back, you can then slide the backrest post too far into the backrest ( past where the bolt holes align ) and crush the sheet out of your fingers!! It was an extremely painful crushing of the top of two fingers. Not good for a CAD operator.
The fingers got ice, the fool got bourbon.
These chairs ( in my opinion ) would also work perfectly for the raised bar of a rec room or man cave because of the seat height. They are much more comfortable than your typical bar stool.
Anyway, good value and seems like a very good product.
I have a 42-inch standing desk. Standing in that I still want the option to sit and I didn't want to raise and lower the desk. I had it custom built. I have searched all over for a decent chair that had the computer desk feel to it. Could not find anything in stores outside of bar stools. I originally bought another chair here with a round seat and no armrests (in one of the pictures as a comparison) It ends up feeling more like it belongs in a workshop and isn't good for long sessions, though it is the right height at a couple of inches taller than this one. This does the job pretty well. It goes together easily. The foot rest does slip down just like everyone says. I plan to put a PVC pipe and slip it around as a collar to support it. No one will look down there and I'll paint it black or something. It should support it enough for resting my feet. I need something because when I rest my feet on the bar below my desk I end up pushing the chair away from the desk over time. The seat is 32in high regardless of what you may see in comments, which I had a feeling were really talking about a different model. As to the feel, the chair feels like it is leaning forward a bit. Its the support rod wobbling forward as you sit and that is kind of expected. There is no way to adjust the seat back to counter it. Just enough that I have some strain in my back as I counter it myself. So keep that in mind. I'm not going to slip off, but it just feels that way. The seat back also is hard to keep in position, just like you'll read in other reviews. As it is I don't mind it being low. Given the options, I think this does the trick. We'll see if it has problems holding up over time.
I do sometimes feel like I'm tired of sitting, but as a coincidence that's actually fine because the purpose is to stand at this desk. Which I like from time to time. Stand until I'm tired of standing, sit until I'm tired of sitting. Not the best review maybe but I have to say I'm satisfied, mostly because the flaws are all mentioned in other reviews, which by the way you'll find on a lot fo these types of chairs.

Initially I was happy other than having a hard time getting comfortable leaning back into the chair. Then over time I noticed the following:
The footrest is secured by a single knob setscrew that will mark the hydraulic cylinder. Over time, it will loosen and gradually work it's way down the cylinder. Each time I try to tighten it more, but I ended up severely denting the cylinder. I consider the footrest all but useless.
The seat rocks back and forth so getting comfortable is a bit difficult.
The seat cushion was ok for a bit, but after several hours, it feels like sitting on a piece of plywood. I bought a 2" gel cushion and that is better.
The largest complaint I have is that when you lean into the backrest it stretches backwards so you are essentially working like you are laying down while reading a book on your chest. It is extremely uncomfortable. The backrest itself curves in to the midback, then back out from the shoulders so the only part supporting your back is a small portion in the middle which allows your shoulders and head to go back into that uncomfortable position. I had to bungee a blanket to the back of the chair to make it even remotely useful to sit in.
I used this for about two years and have tried multiple times to see if there was a cushion or pillow that would make the backrest comfortable and I gave up. From sitting in a stiff position my back is not in the best shape so I am throwing this away. Giving it to someone would just be cruel.
