The spring is a little wonky but works. Nice 1/4 inch notch.
It's a wise idea to place a dot of fabric glue, such as Fray Check, at the tip of each cut notch. This will prevent the fabric from fraying, so you don't end up with a hole in your seam allowance. Even taking that into account, it's still faster than using a fabric pen to draw the notches. My sewing students love the convenience!
Note: I haven't tried the notcher on heavy fabrics yet, such as denim or twill, so I don't know how easily it will cut through those, but it works great on muslin and other lightweight fabrics.
