The Consequence series is hilarious, funny, and has over the top antics, and this book keeps the pace with the previous two books in the series.. The Consequence of Seduction is Reid's story and I was waiting for this book for what seems like forever.
Reid is Max's movie star brother, who doesn't really do commitment, and is fighting the demons of his past (Grandma anyone?!?!?!) so when Max makes him a bet to swap houses if he can commit to a girl for more than a week, he goes for it. He never expected the girl he tried hitting on at the bar to turn him down, think he's gay, or to give him a bunch of crap, he also didn't expect to have her be his new PR rep the next morning. Jordan is a sweet, quiet, and reserved girl. She's always overseen by people, and she just tries to get by in life. She has her job, which she's amazing at, and her dog Otis, and that seems to be enough to keep her happy, that is until Reid enters her life.
The second time these two came in contact with one another is quite hilarious. Jordan is having a horrible day and looks like a homeless woman, and Reid is well.. he's Max's brother so he doesn't know how to keep his mouth shut when he should. With Max up to no good, Reid ends up becoming a PR Nightmare for Jordan, but she learns to go with the flow and try to make things better, but she never expected a false relationship and trying to woo the press to her side as well to be a part of her job.
With Reid and Jordan nothing seems to come easy. There is the line of Jordan being Reid's employee that seems to get blurred a lot, and Jordan being pulled into the groups craziness, even if it's not by choice. Each time one of them seems to think this could be more, they remind themselves that this is just a show, and not real, but the feelings quickly start to change for both of them, and neither of them know how to handle it.
With the help of Max and the rest of the gang, they finally figure things out, and things are awesome for them for a while, until Reid has to go and ruin everything for them. My heart broke for both of them, and yet, I couldn't stop laughing at the same time. A misunderstanding, and some interference from Max made a sad and heartbreaking section of this book, something to laugh about, and kept me wanting to know how it would all play out.
Something needs to be said about Max, Becca, Milo, Colton, and Jason..I swear, I need a group of friends like this, because the things they do, say, and get into are hilarious, and my stomach hurts from laughing so hard while reading this book. With all the good intentions, something always seems to go wrong and even though you know you shouldn't laugh, you just can't help it.
This book is another amazingly written story by Rachel Van Dyken that will have you grabbing your stomach because you're laughing so hard. Reid and Jordan's story is sweet, funny, and absolutely amazing. I did feel that Max got more time in this book at times than the main characters, but I was ok with it, because he's one of my favorite fictional characters ever. I highly suggest this book if you are looking for something without a ton of angst and a lot of laugh out loud moments!
What makes this book stand out are the hilarious characters of Reid and Jordan. I love that Reid is not the typical aloof, brooding alpha. He is confident and witty, and he says what he wants to say. He knows he is gorgeous, but he doesn’t use it as an advantage to women. Women just fall head over heels for his eyes without him trying!
What I also love is that Jordan is also not the typical damsel-in-distress heroine. Like Reid, she is also confident and witty, and she won't take s*** from anyone. She is not an overlooked pretty face. In fact, she is just average: wild hair, wide hips. The public ostracized her as not fit for a hot guy like Reid. But Reid sees her differently. Reid loves every part of her imperfect body. An example:
“A lights-off girl? Hell no. You’re a spotlight girl. You just need to stop looking through your eyes and use mine.”
But what makes this book more enjoyable than the rest of the romantic comedy novels I’ve read are the supporting characters! They are a crazy bunch, and I mean literally crazy! Max is in a whole different level of crazy. If you think you haven’t seen what bored rich young men do, just look at Max! He is funny… although on the latter part of the story, I suddenly had enough and found him immature.
Overall, I had an enjoyable reading experience and I would recommend it to readers who want some laughs.

Accordingly, he and his management hire one of the best publicists in the business to handle his PR for the transition, Jordan Litwright, who, coincidentally enough just happens to be the woman who shot him down at the bar last night when he tried to demonstrate that he still had what it takes to pick up women.
In this hysterical romantic comedy from Rachel Van Dyken, the lines get blurred and smudged and completely erased as a comedy of errors coerce them into a fake relationship that both secretly wish was real.
Of course there's enough potential for a decent RomCom just there, but then there's Max, Reid's brother and the never understated star of both other books in the series (even if one of them wasn't about him) who gets involved. Though its hard to be sure whether he thought he was helping, hindering, or just playing with people's lives because work was boring.
Playing up the comedy from several different angles, like slapstick, observational, situational and through to witty banter, the laughs are well paced, and some are just so funny that I really don't recommend reading on a train, BUT, for all of that there is a really sweet love story to be told amidst the hilarity.
Jordan's story is really quite sad, but unlike so many romances, she doesn't have the classical tragic past. No orphanages or abusive parents. No penny pinching poverty or childhood trauma. No, she's just ... ordinary. Too ordinary to be noticed, which is a whole different kind of tragedy. The kind that crushes the soul bit by bit, one day at a time, and Rachel, despite the overall nature of the book, treats that topic with the delicacy and tenderness that it deserves.
Written as a standalone, and told from alternating POVs, it nevertheless features many of the larger than life characters from the other Consequence books and fits well within that larger world. If you enjoyed them, you'll certainly like this, and if you like this one, don't hesitate to check them out.
I really like the other two books in the series pretty well. But this book just made the series better! Even though there was craziness in this book as well, it was not too much. We had a healthy dose of craziness in here. And I always thought Reid was kind of not a nice guy and I did not like him in the other books. But here we saw a totally different site of him and I started to like him a lot. Like a lot a lot! I have to say that the boys in these books have a really extraordinary way to tell someone they love them, but I kind of like that.
Jordan is such a lovely woman. She knows what she wants and always follows her dreams. And another good point is, she is not that crazy.
This book was better than the other two and I enjoyed it a lot. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!
