I love second chance romances and this was up there with the best that I've read.

Cammie and Dalton were head over heels with each other, only they weren't secure in what they thought the other felt for them. Cammie's dad was a cop who was killed while off duty in a store robbery saving the life of a young girl. Her life crashed, and her mother crashed too - becoming emotionally withdrawn from life and from Cammie. Dalton's home life was crappy and didn't realise what love and respect truly looked like, from neither Cammie nor his peers at the time. Misunderstanding and miscommunication form the basis of them parting.

Written from both POV with flash backs, the build up to Cammie and Dalton's 10 year class reunion is intense. Both allude to the event that parted them. Cammie speaks of betrayal, while Dalton has no idea what it was he did - she just stopped talking to him, and he in his immaturity let her go and moved on with his life plans, ultimately becoming an undercover cop, but couldn't move on from her. Cammie also hasn't moved on, and admits as much on the radio program that she assist-produces for, an admission that Dalton hears on the radio.

At the reunion, Kristy recites the 10 year old code words signaling Dalton's eyes upon Cammie, "The eagle has landed. Hard. Crash landed."

This time round, Dalton is not going to waste time communicating his feelings and thoughts to Cammie. He is, though, flabbergasted when Cammie admits to having loved him since forever. When, he'd asked her back then to define their relationship, she was less than enthusiatic he'd thought: "I was totally lying...I was just trying to play it cool..." And Dalton replies "Well I'm a guy. And guys believe what you tell them. We're not good with hints, or beating around the bush, or any of that sh*t. We ask a question, you give an answer, the end."

Their reconnection is passionate and funny, going from strength to strength in between the stresses of their respective jobs but it works - until Cammie is forced to question her strength is risking love against loss, and the resulting conversation that Kristy enforces between mother and daughter is beautiful. And emotional. Cammie is lucky to have a best friend in Kristy who is loyal, sexy, witty and funny, and has her back. Dalton's partner, Tucker, also is hilarious and thinks he's got women sussed, "Girls always think they know what they want, when really it's just some crazy-ass test they're putting us through. Bitches are always setting us up to fail." LMAO!!!!

This story is the first I've read of J. Sterling, and is emotional and funny, and a really great read. I hit it in one sitting and cried and laughed. I've already one-clicked my next one. I highly recommend this book.

When I saw this book pop up on my news feed, I knew I had to read it. I am a huge fan of J. Sterlings, and 10 Years Later did not disappoint.

We meet Dalton and Cammie, who are set to go to their 10 year high school reunion. Neither of them have spoken since before they graduated high school, but still have feelings for one another, and are hoping to see one another at the reunion. Cammie has tried over and over again to find Dalton on social media, but has been unsuccessful, so she is hoping that she can see him, even though she denies she still has feelings for him.

Dalton has gone off the grid, due to his job as an under cover cop, but Cammie is always on his mind. He's going to the reunion for one reason only, to get Cammie once and for all.

Both Cammie and Dalton were likeable characters, but I find it hard to believe that even though Dalton wasn't on social media, that Cammie would not be able to find him if she tried hard enough. As much as I loved both of these characters, at times Cammie got on my nerves. The way she goes from hating Dalton, to loving him, to wanting nothing to do with him, caused my head to spin. I understand all of her reasons for her feelings, but I just wanted to shake some sense into her.

Dalton made some mistakes in high school, and being a guy, he didn't even know he made them, and this caused a lot of miscommunication and issues between these two ten years ago. Dalton has finally realized that no matter what, he will not be letting Cammie go this time around.

I loved the dynamic of these two, and how even though they hadn't talked or seen each other in so long, they still had impacts on each others lives. Dalton and Cammie's relationship is messy, but I loved each and every part of it. They've gone through a lot to get to where they are, and one simple thing almost brings them back to where it all started, not together.

I really enjoyed this story, and was pleasantly surprised by the uniqueness of it. We've all read a ton of second chance romance, but this one really stood out. I fell in love with the side characters in the story as well, but as much as I loved this story, I wish we would have gotten a little more at the end. I felt as if it ended too quickly, but over all this is one amazing book!

Ok....well this is a favourite storyline for me...I love a second chance romance above any other sort so couldn't wait to get my hands on this,
Dalton & Cammie were close in their younger years but miscommunication shattered their hearts and led them in different directions...now before you cry...why don't people just talk to each other?...you have to understand their ages and immaturity at that time...we have all been there in school when hearing or seeing something turns you into a tailspin and you don't always have the maturity to deal with it well...that was them!
Now though....its 10 years later....a school reunion...Cammie has always loved Dalton...she doesn't know where he is...what's he is doing or who with or even if he is going
Dalton has always loved Cammie...he knows she is going and he is going to win her back and thus begins a beautiful love story.
There is no back and forth...no real recriminations...they both realise they made a mistake...they were young and foolish.
There are a few issues they have to deal with mainly to do with Cammie's fear and Dalton's job but love overcomes anything doesn't it?
Loved this book...left me very happy and very satisfied 💝

"I might have been a stupid young kid back then who allowed her to walk away, but I was a man now. And a man rights his wrongs, admits where he screwed up, and goes after what he wants.
And what I wanted was her."

I absolutely LOVED this book. I fell in love with Cammie and Dalton from the start. Long lost love from high school, mixed in with tragedy and SO much chemistry, this story will stay with you for a long time.

J Sterling knocks it out of the park, as always. She somehow manages to simultaneously tug on our heart strings and make us laugh, cementing her place in reader's hearts.

I enjoyed this new book by J. Sterling!

When I read the blurb for the book, I instantly had to have this book. I LOVE second chance love stories!

So you know how we all love social media and are basically addicted to it? How social media allows you to search to look into people's lives that you are no longer friends with to find out what their current life is like and what they have been up to...in a word..being nosey lol

I would SO be like that if I were going to be attending my high school reunion! Heck, I am like that now lol....So here is what you have know....

Dalton Thomas is a copy who had a dysfunctional childhood.

Cammie is a radio show producer.

And it's time for their 10 year high school reunion and they are both still hung up on each other. :)

Seeing and experiencing their first interaction after 10 years feels bittersweet because they are both wanting the same thing. There have been so many missed opportunities and NOW is the time to make up for it.

This is a book about living in the moment, living and loving with no regrets and how love is worth taking the risk.

There were so many things I enjoyed about this book - I loved the radio aspect and having people experience Cammie's life with her. I also enjoyed the element of suspense and how it played into Cammie's history with her dad and showed her to take a chance on love. Most of all, I love romance and 2nd chances at love....Dalton is a romantic and he will make your heart skip a beat <3

With laughter, smiles, fear and love....this was a full circle journey that is fun and sweet and real - a classic J. Sterling book that will put a satisfied smile on your face when you close your kindle <3

The only thing I wished for was an epilogue because I am a sucker for what happens NEXT but I know that not everything is always wrapped up in a pretty bow so I am happy to use my imagination of where this couple will go from here :)

"You're supposed to talk me off the ledge, not walk me to it

J. Sterling is one of my all time favourite people - let alone favourite author! She is funny, sassy and always makes time for her fans which I adore. I loved The Perfect Game, The Game Changer and The Sweetest Game but this was my first Jenn novel in over a year.

Well. Worth. The. Wait!

"You cant expect me to resist that kind of temptation every night, babe.

Cammie and Dalton went to school together - whilst they weren't officially dating, it was pretty obvious they were head over heels. Unfortunately, circumstances have kept them apart for 10 years and the 10 year reunion is the perfect place for them to meet again.

"My heart was beating so violently that I was convinced I was having a heart attack. This wasn't normal, what I was experiencing."

They are so sweet together - sweet and HOT. They are made for each other but this book shows that sometimes fate can be quite the cruel bitch.

"Thank you for the cookie before dinner." I raised my glass in the air with a smile and said, "Here's to eating dessert first, and to new beginnings."

Jenn has produced another sweet, easy to read novel for the slightly more grown up NA lover and I would tell anyone who loves second chance romances to give this one a shot.
Soon.
