In New York Times bestselling author Rachel Gibson's newest novella, Vince Haven and Sadie Hollowell are headed to the altar, and all their friends are headed to Lovett, Texas, to join them for the party of the year.

But Becca Ramsey doesn't have time for all that. Fresh out of beauty school, Becca's all business . . . and the last thing she needs is bad boy Nate Parrish anywhere in her life.

In the past, Nate was trouble. He's been trying to repair his reputation—heck, he's even got just one girlfriend. The problem is, she isn't Becca. Now Nate's in a whole lot of hot water. He needs to get Becca from "I won't" to "I do" . . . but how can he do that when she won't even say "I might"?

About the Author

Rachel Gibson began her fiction career at age sixteen, when she ran her car into the side of a hill, retrieved the bumper, and drove to a parking lot, where she strategically scattered the car’s broken glass all about. She told her parents she’d been the victim of a hit-and-run and they believed her. She’s been making up stories ever since, although she gets paid better for them nowadays.

Once again I can't help but disagree with all of the blah reviews. This novella is fun and fast, but not lacking for me because I got to revisit many of my favorite characters from Ms. Gibson's Lovett, Texas books. If you've read her previous backlist (and I have although sometimes I wish I hadn't so I could discover her books anew), you will be able to enjoy fully this short story of Jack and Daisy Parrish's son, Nate, and his newfound love--Becca. Nate is Jack's Seattle-born and bred son who didn't meet his biological father until he was fifteen, because Jack let Daisy get away. Becca is a Texas-belle hairstylist employed by Nate's aunt Lily and befriended by Sadie Hollowell-soon-to-be Haven. I thoroughly enjoyed learning that in addition to Nate, Jack and Daisy now have two more young daughters. I loved participating in Sadie and Vince's wedding and sharing in the birth of Vince's friend Beau's and Stella's daughter. Maybe Nate and Becca's love story did not have alot of angst and drama, but I wouldn't expect it to. They are both young (early twenties), and Nate Parrish learned from his father's advice that you do not let "The One" get away. "I Do!" was a great story that let readers get a glimpse into the happenings in Lovett, and gave them a sweet and sexy love story to boot. That doesn't mean I am not looking forward to a new full-blown novel from Ms. Gibson, whether from Lovett, Texas: Truly, Idaho; Seattle, Washington, or someplace entirely new.

It was good but the ending was to abrupt! I like more closure. The ending left me hanging....maybe the next book will end this one?

First, I am a big fan of Rachel Gibson's books. She is an auto-buy on my Kindle.

This novella seemed short. In fact, if you take out the scenes devoted to revisiting characters from other books, it becomes a very short story for the main characters, Nate and Becca. (Who were both introduced initially in previous books.) It was almost as if the author was asked to create a story to revisit characters from her earlier works to create fresh interest in those books. In fact, at the end of the Kindle version those books are listed.

As a rule, I have no problem with this since I LOVE to revisit characters from previous books. I have stated this over and over in many of my other reviews. It only becomes a problem when too much of the new book is devoted to the old and there is less new story. In my opinion the scenes between Nate and Becca were too brief. There wasn't enough time to build any type of believable relationship.

Other than sex. Which they hopped on after only knowing each other a week (give or take a few days). I don't take issue with the quick sex, as much as the fact that we are suppose to believe it was love, when we didn't have much to back it up <spoiler> and the fact that he cheated on his girlfriend with Becca.

I could get past all of that. (Story too short, and a little shy of believable.) But I get really hung up when a book isn't edited. So many of the ebook novellas slip past with mistakes that would have been corrected if someone had read through it. I don't understand the process of setting up an ebook, so perhaps the errors get made in that process? (In which case, I imagine the author is not happy.)It will be interesting to see if the mass market print edition has these same mistakes or if they were corrected before the printing.

It is a cute story -- and if you have read the other books you certainly should get a kick out it. For $1.99, it is worth it.

It was very short. Only 5 chapters. There was mention of other characters from the series. I am going to re-read a few. Especially Sam's story. Becca and Nate, only meet when she stops by to get the photos Daisy was supposed to leave in the mailbox. She couldn't find them so she went into the garage where Nate was working on a car. He bangs his head but then goes to clean up. He asks Becca to go into the house, but she didn't really think she should. Any way, Becca didn't get her photos to bring to show Stella. But they decide on hairdos for the wedding anyway. The wedding goes off without a hitch except at the reception, Stella's sister's water breaks and they rush to the hospital. Nate finds Becca at the barn and they become involved. They return to Nate's place and in the morning Nate's old girl friend shows up. Becca is so heartbroken. She can't believe that Nate would cheat on his girlfriend. Nate wanted to break up with the girl, but she's been out of town for months. Nate finally asks his dad about falling in love. Jack's advice helps Nate and Nate goes to find Becca. The HEA is there for all to see. It was short, it was sweet and I loved it.

I ordered this title for my wife because she is a fan of the author and the title is unavailable in any local bookstore. It's a novelette similar to a Harlequin romance type of book. My wife is happy so I'm happy

I was so excited to read this book, but it was the worst from all Rachel Gibson's books. No history at all, seems like a awful begginer wrote it.

I have thought it was very short, when I thought that the outcome of the knot would be more intense, it's over. I loved "Rescue Me" and Rachel Gibson is one of my favorite authors but this book is not. Despite all I recommend it

Un Rachel Gibson décevant qui sent la fin de saga. Les personnages sont falots et il n'y a pas d'intrigue ni de rebondissement.
