This is the first neti pot I’ve ever tried. Previously, I had used a plastic squeeze bottle for sinus rinsing. I wasn’t sure I could bend my head and neck enough to use a ceramic neti pot without making a big mess. In the middle of a sinus infection and with my squeeze bottle discoloring with heavier use, I decided to try the Sattvic Path neti pot. It turns out, this neti pot is gentle and easy to use. Directions are included, and I make my own intuitive adjustments. The spout makes a seal with the nostril so it’s easy to tip the spout downward so the rinse flows out. I don’t have to bend my head a full 90 degrees to get the nasal rinse to flow. The flow is a gentle pouring from the (approximately) ¼ inch hole in the spout and there is no mess. The exit is as gentle as the inflow.
The Sattvic Path neti pot is ceramic and glazed throughout except on the base, so it’s very easy to clean. I think it is unlikely to discolor or stain any more than a coffee mug. Mine holds about 7oz of nasal rinse when sitting on a level surface.
I like the simple, sleek shape and design. It does not have a lid or a handle to lose, chip, break or accumulate grime. The pot fits comfortably in my hand. It’s about 2 ½ inches wide at the indentations, so it’s easy to hold and control, even for small adult hands. The indentations keep it from slipping while in use and when cleaning.
I was a little hesitant to invest in a ceramic neti pot because I might drop it. The insert in this neti pot encourages signing up for their lifetime guarantee. Because I suffer with allergies, I have used a Neti Pot for years. My favorite type to use is a ceramic, like this one. Unfortunately, because it is most convenient for me to use the Neti in the shower I tend to get slippery and drop them. So every few years I need to purchase a new one. I ordered this Neti to replace my last.
When I received it the packaging was questionable: it came in a legal size bubble envelope and the box was crushed a bit. I was relieved to find the pot inside was in good shape! It is smaller than my last one, but it has s a sleek, artistic design. It does its job well; the water flows well from the spout. I love that it is dishwasher safe - I can get it good and clean.
My only wish is that it had an actual handle on it to prevent me from dropping it, but if you traditionally use it over a sink the absence of a handle would not be a problem because of the ergonomic design. The product description states it has a Lifetime Guarantee “if it breaks, we will send you a new one – no questions asked”, but I can’t see myself asking for a replacement in the future if it is my fault I broke it.
