Product Description
Do you hate it that even after installing a call blocker, you still get spam calls from unrecognized numbers? If you do, try SENTRY.
SENTRY works like a real sentry guarding your house phone. It recognizes the friendly numbers (White List) and let them in, it recognizes spammers (Black List) and hangs up on them. For unrecognized callers, it will perform 'Stop and Check’ which will let in the ‘good’ callers and drive away the ‘bad’ callers. This unique Active Blocking will block 100% robo junk calls and 99.9% of telemarketer/solicitor calls. All you need to do is to set up a White List, that includes your friends and family members, doctor offices, pharmacies, etc. Once you have the White List set up, SENTRY is fully automatic. There is no need to hit REJECT button anymore. You will no longer be bothered by those annoying telemarketer calls, not even one. And you don't need to do a thing! There is no need to hit REJECT button like most other call blockers. Worried about missing important first time calls? SENTRY allows first time callers to press 0 and ring the unit so you can pick up the call. By pressing 0 the caller's number is automatically saved to the White List.
If you are not ready for the Active Blocking, SENTRY can be used as a conventional call blocker with Black List. You can choose to have SENTRY to block based on Black List only. SENTRY has a Black List capacity of 1500.
Please watch SENTRY intro video for more details.

I received a spam call from an unsolicited mortgage company at 5:40 AM a couple weeks ago. This was my motivation to find a way to block nuisance calls. While researching call blockers, I found some required you to actively add bad callers to a block list, while others use a community driven block list. The issue with a block list approach is that the scam callers are spoofing phone numbers and are always changing them.
This device works differently. It auto answers the phone with a terse message that if you are a telemarketer, you need to remove this number from your calling list. If you aren't a telemarketer, you are instructed to hit "1" to ring through. This totally breaks predictive dialers because they are automatically dialing numbers and connecting them to a person when someone picks up. Whenever your phone rings three times and you pick up and no one answers, this is a predictive dialer trying to hang up before an answering service can answer. The predictive dialing technology does not have the intelligence to hit "1" so the call never rings through to the house. The agent who gets connected gets connected after the message has already played, so they don't know to hit "1".
For known callers you can add them to a white list, which will allow them to ring through to your house on the first ring.
I am using the device with the "free" version of Ooma. I have my Ooma telos device mounted in my garage next to my phone patch panel. This call blocking device is installed between the phone out line of the Ooma Telos and the wiring that runs to all my house phones. With this setup, you never hear one ring from the bad guys.
Looking in my Ooma call log it seems that the incoming scam call volume is starting to drop off. Connecting agents to a what sounds like a dead line wastes their time and is probably getting my number dropped from their predictive calling list.

FYI, I'm using a 4 handset Panasonic DECT 6.0 cordless phone system with answering machine and I'm using it in the regular (preferred) series line connection scheme. Connecting it this way keeps my phones completely quiet for unwanted calls. I did NOT have to connect it in the parallel scheme that they say Panasonic phones must use. The phones DO show the CID info when they ring, but they do not show the CID info when a call comes in from someone who is not in the whitelist unless they dial "0" to get through. The Sentry does store the CIDs of all calls whether they ring-through or not. I should also mention that I am using OOMA for my home phone service.
Update #1 11/24/2018:
Now that we went through an election cycle I am even more impressed with the gadget . I can see from the caller ID that it is stopping an average of 6 calls a day, VERY impressive! So far, a couple of people that were not whitelisted and needed to get through to me WERE able to get through, but no scammers/spammers/robocallers have tried to get through the "dial 0" routine.
Update #2 1/18/2021:
After going through another election cycle, I can tell you that this device just plain WORKS! It has been rejecting an average of 10-12 calls a day. To this day, no spammer/scammer has tried to go around the "dial 0" routine, but a doctor's office has and I got the call.
