Professor Tori Williams had enough of her boyfriend putting her wants last so she moved into the house she had inherited from her aunt so she could fix it up. Basketball player Mike Giamaria was hiding out on Evanston, IL rehabbing his shoulder, when he rescued the lady next door from falling off her roof and reinjured his shoulder. Mike didn’t know what to do with anyone that didn’t recognize him so when Tori teased him about being a professional golfer he was amused.

The Player Next Door is a fun sports romance read where the couple is like fish out of water with Tori thinking random thoughts and Mike being so serious about his basketball.

I loved it! Tori is a hot mess to everyone around her and has no desire to change anyone’s perspective. But Mike takes the time to see her beyond that quicky personna that she puts on for her family and friends. What he finds is more intriguing to him, than he'd ever bargained for.

This story is just so cute. But...I could have done with a lot less sex scenes. One or two are not bad, but....these scenes were more than accessive, IMO. Otherwise; this was a fabulous story.

I read a lot of books, but this one really kept my attention because of the dialogue and the banter. These were great characters who just seemed to get even though they were so different. I loved how she bloomed after he gave her his complete acceptance. Read the whole thing in one sitting and it was enjoyable.

Another adorable Lovestruck book for sure. Tori literally fell in love with Mike, well she fell off her roof into Mike’s arms. Tori is a hot mess to everyone around her and has no desire to change anyone’s perspective. Mike sees more with Tori then the intelligent quirky woman portrays. Their temporary hook ups become more then either one expects. Mike has his basketball career to think about. While Tori has a pain in the ass ex-boyfriend and family who don’t have much confidence in her abilities to function to live on her own. Tori and Mike got way more than what they bargained for when Tori fell into Mike’s arms. This book was a 4.5 stars out of 5.

This was a great story by Kathy Lyons! I've read a couple of her other books and had mixed feelings, but I couldn't pass up the description of this one. Tori and Mike are a fantastic case of opposites attracting - the absent-minded professor and professional athlete. And yet they understand each other so well and with such good humor and caring that the way Ms. Lyons builds their relationship is perfect. I totally laughed out loud while reading this. There are some silly hijinks, but they just add to the story as opposed to being gimmicks. I'm kind of hoping for another book with one of Mike's teammates.
