Having watched nutnfancy, apostlep and gideons tactical reviews, I had this knife in my wishlist for quite some time. I had a dilemma of getting the lightweight or the s30v g10 version. I finally bit the bullet and decided to go with the lightweight. The main reason was to have the FRCP handle, so it doesn't thrash my jeans pocket. I looked at many different reviews of the steel, and decided to go with the BD1 as it won't chip quite so easily. I am a sharpening novice and still learning on my other cheaper blades. I use 2 water stones and will eventually get the Spyderco sharpmaker. The handle is extremely comfortable for my XL hands. My thumb is getting used to the lock and slowly loosening it. Having it for the last couple days, I already know that it will be my EDC choice most days. The 3 oz is amazing for the size of the blade. The knife I have been carrying was the Kershaw Cryo II, about 5.5 ounces and 8cr13mov steel along with my Victorinox Cadet.
