Product Description

Sorel's cold weather footwear is ideal for those participating in active winter sports like snowmobiling or sledding, or for activities where maximum protection is required -- like all-season hunting or fishing, or simply going to work. How to measure your foot-1.Place your feet flat on a piece of paper and mark your longest toe and the back of your foot. It's best to do this standing and wearing socks. 2.Measure the length straight from your longest toe to the back of your foot using a ruler or measuring tape.Use the chart to find your size.

Ginormous Feet
I ordered these in my true size 8, and they look ginormous (think snowboard boot big). There's plenty of room to wiggle my toes, which I think is a good thing since anything too tight makes me feet turn cold. I may have been able to size down, but I was afraid they'd be too small and uncomfortable, and I plan to wear them with thick, cozy socks. Truthfully though, after two "polar vortex" winters in Chicago, I don't care how they look so long as they're warm and comfy. And although I have yet to test them out in a Chicago winter, they so far seem to fit the bill. The second photo shows size comparison between my old winter boots and these.

I can't attest to their wear or weatherproofing just yet, I have hesitated on whether to keep or not, because they are quit large in the ankle area (as are almost all other snowboots I have tried on). They do seem to be easy on/off. They seem warmer than others I've put on and they lace up fairly easily. The tongue however, leaves a gap against your shin, oddly and seem like it's an opening welcoming snow into the shoe. There is a tightening around the top of your foot, which is great, but that makes the ankle area have even more instability. So I can tighten down the laces, (which slip back to almost untied) and still have quite a bit of movement in my ankle area, which I'm sure will lead to the dreaded blisters on the back of my foot/ankles, as is common in reviews with this boot, so I'm torn as to whether to keep or not. Bummer, because I really wanted these boots to be it for the long haul. Tired of tredging through the snow and slush and getting my tennies ruined and salty and most of all wet feet/socks.
undecided....
update-to exchange for a different size- 0 stars!
apparently there are no exchanges and you have to return, refund and then re order the boot in a different size and guess what, they don't price match or match your coupon and customer service (sold by amazon) has been horrible.... I can't beleive how hard they make it. Even walmart will give you better service. If I were you, I'd buy from a better retailer-unless you know EXACTLY what you need.

Just recieved them so I haven't tested the cold weather with them, but wanted to mention The ankle shaft mentioned in other reviews does seem to be a design flaw. it's leather so it should soften with time, but it'd be nice if it and the inner lining was a bit stiffer throughout the back of the ankle to support the upper better. Also order at least a half size up to account for smartwool midweight hiking socks. My everyday shoes are a 8.5 in Ariat leather paddock boots and these are definitely too tight to wear all day without limiting circulation. A 9 should fit me much better with the thick socks.

I thought I would write a review because I read a lot of reviews on these before I purchased them and was really concerned that they wouldn't fit (I purchased from the UK and live in Australia, so returning would have been costly and annoying). This review is based purely on size/fit - I can't comment on function yet, as it's the middle of summer in Australia. I'll update this review in six weeks when I've worn them in freezing northern Japan! These arrived today and when I first took them out of the packaging my heart sank - they look huge! When I tried them on however, they fit pretty perfectly. I almost ordered a size down, like a lot of the reviews said, but I'm really glad I opted not to - I thought if they were a little on the large side, I'd be able to fill in the space with thick socks - but I think I'm only going to be able to wear one pair of medium weight socks in these! I chose my size (US 7) by measuring my foot in cm and also by going off the sizing in my Asics runners - also a US 7. I have quite a narrow foot and was worried these would be too wide - and had read that people had issues tightening the laces - but my foot feels pretty secure in these, and I feel like I've been able to lace them easily and adequately (the laces look like they will be a dream with cold, frozen, gloved fingers - unlike a previous pair of North Face winter boots I owned which were a bloody nightmare to lace up in the cold!) Despite these being a bit on the clunky side (I expected this, and don't care, as long as my feet are warm) they feel really light and easy to move in just walking around my house. I can't feel any uncomfortable rubbing. They feel very warm just wearing them in my house - I really hope they perform well in the cold because I hate having cold painful feet!

Super cute and got many compliments. Fits half a size smaller than what you normally wear. However, they are pretty bulky when you walk and the back heels slip and gave me a blister. I was hoping they'd be super comfy because they are so cute. Sending them back.

Unfortunately I had to return these. I love this brand but these boots didn't work for me. I am a true 6.5 and had to return my first pair b/c they were too small. When the 7's came I thought they were good but definitely a stiff boot. I had them about a month before I got to wear them. It finally snowed and I was able to wear my boots. They were a disaster.
First, I was wearing a pair of regular socks and the boot ate my sock down to the toe. Basically my sock was falling off while wearing the boots. Second, my ankle bone on my left foot was in so much pain after wearing the boots for 30 min! I thought it had to do with my sock rubbing on the boot, so I put on a pair of knee socks with the boots and my ankle bone was still killing me! I had to return them.

I LOVE these boots. However I'm returning them because they are way too big. I normally wear a 9 & ordered a 9...they seem more like a 10. Also, like other comments before me, the back strip cut into my ankle to the point that it was so uncomfortable I couldn't wear them more than 10mins. So sad...they are super cute.

After reading through other reviews I ordered a half size larger, thinking that these were going to run small. Nope, they were huge! I am a solid size 10, and I need a wider shoe due to a neuroma in my foot so I figured even if they were a little large it would be okay, better for my foot in the long run. The 10.5 was so big, with my foot sliding around and would have just slipped out if it wasn't a boot. The purple color was really pretty and the boot itself was warm, cozy and comfortable so it was a disappointing return.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great boots but fit really large.

Love these boots but they fit large. I ordered my usual size and when I got them, my feet almost slipped right out of them. I had to look at my order to see if I had accidentally ordered the men's size. I had not. They felt almost 2 sizes too big but then I thought that maybe they fit a bit big in order to leave room for big, wool socks (?) I had to send them back... and I'm sad.
