“There are no secrets that time does not reveal.”

Savannah, Georgia – 1858

Celia Browning dreams of the day when her childhood sweetheart Sutton Mackay comes home to Savannah after two years in Jamaica managing his family's shipping interests. Sutton has all but proposed, and their marriage will unite two of the city's most prominent families. But just as Sutton returns, a newspaper reporter arrives in town, determined to pry into twin tragedies that took place at the Browning mansion on Madison Square when Celia was a child.

While the journalist pursues his story, someone is trying to frighten Celia. When she receives a series of anonymous notes, and a bracelet imbued with a chilling message, Celia realizes that her family’s past has the power to destroy her future.

As the clouds of war gather over Savannah, and her beloved father’s health worsens, Celia determines to uncover the truth about what really happened all those years ago.

Inspired by actual events in one of Savannah’s most prominent 19th-century families, The Bracelet is the story of a young southern woman whose dreams fracture under the weight of her family’s tragic past.

Neat novel for those who Iove romance and mystery in a Southern setting prior to the Civil War. Excellent character development!

I enjoyed this book it was a mystery and romance set in Savannah Georgia. I would recommend this to anyone who likes romance set in an older setting in a romantic city with a little suspense and mystery added.

I did enjoy this book. It was a good read and I don't feel like my afternoon was wasted by sitting down to read it. However I did find that both Celia and Sutton were too perfect. They didn't seem to have any flaws at all and it didn't seem very realistic. I found my self disliking Celia almost right away and I wasn't to keen on the character of Sutton either, I almost didn't trust him in a way. All the characters were a bit flat to me. As to the villain, I suspected who it was right from the beginning and why they did the things they did,to me it was a little obvious. The story kept me interested but dragged on in some parts. I pretty much read the entire book in one afternoon. The length of the book wasn't too long and it wasn't too short, and the ending was satisfactory. There were some parts that seemed a bit out of place and a little random. But the author did a good job of also putting in a few surprises. Overall it was a good book, there were just some things that did bother me while I was reading it.

I enjoy the combination of reading that includes some history that really explains the thinking of many of the day...with enough mystery to it that really keeps you thinking and guessing to the end. This is such a book.
