Easy to use and provides great results
First of all it cannot be stressed enough that this product was not intended, nor is warrantied in any way for repairing defective UV or Anti-scratch coatings on polycarbonate eyeglasses. The heading for this product should be clear enough, but I'm reiterating it because this product will seriously damage glass lenses. If your glasses are constructed with glass lenses, do not even consider using this product for repair.
If on the other hand, your glasses are made with the most common lens material, polycarbonate, and you have the usual coatings that the optometrists cynically push like anti UV and Anti-Scratch treatment, this product may save you a great deal of money.
In my case, my lenses were so damaged by the coatings going bad that it was essentially like looking through Vaseline coated lenses. I had little to lose so I followed the directions you can easily find by googling the subject.
In short, make sure your work area is well ventilated, wash your glasses thoroughly, and then apply a small bean sized amount of Armour Etch to the coated side. Usually the outside is the coated one, but hold the lenses up to a light and note which side is reflective and which is not. The side that is most reflective is the un-coated one, so you will want to apply the compound to opposite side. Gently rub the compound on the coated side with your fingers for a minute or two. Wear protective gloves for this, as the compound contains acid. Armour Etch has a slightly gritty, abrasive feel, but did not scratch my glasses whatsoever. Then rinse your glasses off thoroughly, paying particular attention to the frames, as they can be easily discolored by the acid in the compound. Use only soft cotton cloth, or silk to dry the lenses. Do not use any paper products to dry the lens whatsoever, or you will run the risk of scratching the lenses. If possible, remove your lenses from the frames when you apply the compound. In my case it was not possible, but, with some care, the frames were undamaged.
Never having used this product or process before, I was anxious that the grit was going to make the lenses even worse, so I rinsed the glasses off earlier than the directions suggested, probably after about 30 to 45 seconds.
But when I looked through the lenses, I was simply stunned: there was simply no trace of the coatings whatsoever. My glasses were crystal clear and just as good as new. Armour Etch saved me at least $400 on new glasses.
The closest thing to a downside from this process is that removing the coatings results in a bit more glare, due to the lack of UV filtering, but for me this is a trivial price to pay.
I simply cannot recommend this product more, but please observe my caveats before using it, as well note as the manufacturer's disclaimer.
What the staff failed to tell me is if you leave your eye glasses in hot temperatures, the film will warp. I couldn’t even see yet along drive in it.
I looked up multiple ways to remove the film (soaking in alcohol didn’t work or just peel them off) and I saw someone’s YouTube video. I figured why not try. It’s only $13.
To my amazement after 5 minutes, the film was gone and I can clearly see in my glasses!
Be sure to follow directions and wear protective gloves.

The glass I'm using requires a much longer "setting" time then stated on the bottle (over 12 hours), but it still works. Different glass could work according to directions.
