I got these pencils because my last set I bought maybe a month ago was completely worn down quicker than I expected mainly because of the pencils not holding up well when sharpened. So when I bought this set I wasn't really paying attention to what was on the box as far as anything being different from other pencils, I just wanted to see what pencils would be in there.

Anyway, I got them yesterday and started using them last night and I am just so pleased with how well the lead holds up as far as no crumbling and what-not. But then I came to a dreaded point where I actually had to *sharpen* the pencil with the included sharpener. I looked on the box and saw it said "SUPERIOR SHARPENING HIGH BREAK RESISTANCE" and went yeah right.

WELL IT'S RIGHT. AS A PERSON WHO HAS HAD TO DEAL WITH THREE SEPARATE SETS OF SKETCHING PENCILS FROM THREE DIFFERENT BRANDS DETERIORATING INTO SPLINTERY NUBS DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO HANDLE SHARPENING, THIS CAME AS A COMPLETE JOY FILLED SHOCK TO MY SYSTEM AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE BEAUTIFUL PENCILS TO ANYONE WHO DOES A LOT OF DRAWING AND NEEDS TO DO A LOT OF SHARPENING BECAUSE AS FAR AS I KNOW THESE PENCILS WILL NOT DISAPPOINT.

I've used Faber-Castell for over 40 years. They're known for good quality. The only thing I'd say about this set is that I've never much needed anything but an HB, 2B, and 4B for drawing, maybe a 2H on occasion, so this set has some grades of pencils I don't think are essential, but the art stores have been on lockdown and this seemed like as good a a way to get some new pencils as any.

Some pencils I have bought in the past were hard to erase. For those who draw a lot you know what I am talking about. There is no magic eraser in the world that can get rid of the marks. These pencils draw clearly with light pressure, as they are supposed to for what they are labeled, and yet they erase easily with my pink eraser or my mars eraser or any other eraser I choose. I know that sound weird but Erasable-ness of the pencil is most important to me. I want to be able to ink and then color, paint what ever my drawings with out doodle lines crisscrossing through out.
