About the Author

Samantha Price is a best selling author who knew she wanted to become a writer at the age of seven, while her grandmother read to her Peter Rabbit in the sun room. Though the adventures of Peter and his sisters Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cotton-tail started Samantha on her creative journey, it is now her love of Amish culture that inspires her to write. Her writing is clean and wholesome, with more than a dash of sweetness. Though she has penned over one hundred and twenty Amish Romance and Amish Mystery books, Samantha is just as in love today with exploring the spiritual and emotional journeys of her characters as she was the day she first put pen to paper. Samantha lives in a quaint Victorian cottage with three rambunctious dogs.

Bishop John informed Ettie Smith (80+, Amish) she needed to be at her deceased friends Agatha King (60, Amish) reading of the will.
Mr. Andrews (60+, lawyer) informed Mrs. Ettie Smith & Ava Glick (eldest daughter) what they would receive from Agatha’s estate.
Ettie took Elsa-May (80+, older sister, Amish) & Jeremiah (grandson, Amish) to look at the house/property she just inherited.
Jeremiah came back inside after looking under the house.

There’s a man’s body under the house wrapped in plastic.
The body was taken to the morgue to be examined.
Detective Keith Kelly came to interview Ettie & Elsa-May.
The corpse had been ID as Horace Hostetler (Amish).
He had been hit in the back of his head.
Horace had disappeared on his rumspringa.
Ettie went to talk with Doris Hostetler (90+, mother) & Sadie Hostetler (60+, daughter/sister, spinster).
The Bishop stood by Horace’s grave & gave his blessing.
The 2 amateur sleuths: Ettie & Elsa-May were doing their own investigation on the murder.
Jeremiah had found a small yellow envelope when he was replacing the floorboards.
Joshua Yoder is now engaged to Peggy Schroder.

Could Horace have taken the diamonds?

I do not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing free books from publishers & authors. Therefore, I am under no obligation to write a positive review, only an honest one.

An awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very professionally written Amish Cozy Mystery book. It was quite easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a huge description list of unique characters, settings, facts etc. to keep track of. This could also make another great Amish Cozy Mystery movie, or better yet a mini-TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is an extremely easy rating of 5 stars.

When I grabbed a free copy of Secrets Come Home, I wasn't aware that it was an Amish mystery. Okay, yes, I read the description. There was a dead Amish guy under the house the main character inherited. But I didn't pick up on the fact that the majority of characters - including the main one - were Amish as well. I know... not a big deal. But I generally don't read books about Amish characters. I just don't get the fascination. However, this book was well-written. The mystery was well-plotted. And the characters were likeable. Hence the four stars.

Time has a way of making us think a crime will never be solved. While that may be true at times. Well, this is the story of a murder many years before that is solved. Taking place in an Amish community makes for a very interesting tale. Good book
