I bought this for my wife who wanted a light (as in not weighing much) outfit. This rod, weighing 4.5 ounces, perfectly balances the Shimano CI4 4000 reel. With 30 lb FINS braid, the entire rig weighs around eleven ounces! She is extremely happy with this combination and is able to fish all day without getting tired. The rod is very sensitive and sheldom does she miss feeling a bite. My only complaint is that she outfishes me!
