Sometimes you have to lose yourself to find where you truly belong . . .

Most girls would kill to spend months traveling around Europe after college graduation with no responsibility, no parents, and no-limit credit cards. Kelsey Summers is no exception. She's having the time of her life . . . or that's what she keeps telling herself.

It's a lonely business trying to find out who you are, especially when you're afraid you won't like what you discover. No amount of drinking or dancing can chase away Kelsey's loneliness, but maybe Jackson Hunt can. After a few chance meetings, he convinces her to take a journey of adventure instead of alcohol. With each new city and experience, Kelsey's mind becomes a little clearer and her heart a little less hers. Jackson helps her unravel her own dreams and desires. But the more she learns about herself, the more Kelsey realizes how little she knows about Jackson.

Editorial Reviews

From Booklist

For Kelsey Summers, a trip to Europe sounded like the perfect adventure. Not only would she have the chance to live life with no strings attached, she could really annoy her father by mindlessly tossing away his money as well. So far everything is going exactly as planned. Kelsey is about to spend some quality dancing time with two Hungarian hunks at a bar housed in a formerly abandoned building in Budapest. Then, just when Istvan (or was it Tamas?) moves in for his kiss, it happens. Istvan’s kiss turns into a majorly embarrassing slobber-fest that catches the attention of the primary American hottie at the bar. Kelsey wants the American guy to scope her out, but this is definitely not the way she planned on doing it! Carmack’s writing perfectly captures the voice of the twentysomething crowd, and her ability to fuse sexy romance with just the right amount of acerbic wit make her one of the true stars of the new-adult romance movement. --John Charles

Confession: I still haven't read the first two books in this series but the moment Finding It was available for review, I knew I had to request it.

About halfway through the book I realized that this was going to go along the lines of Roman Holiday and Chasing Liberty. Usually when I figure out where a book is headed, I either put it down or am less invested in it. Cora Carmack made me want to keep reading. Her writing is the perfect blend of angst, sexiness, heartbreak and a whole lot of laughs.

And it goes something like this...

Kelsey Summers is having the time of her life traipsing through Europe without a care in the world. Well, almost. She's running from something and dancing the night away, throwing back large amounts of alcohol, attending raves sounds like a way to numb the thoughts. Until one, very imposing man by the name of Jackson Hunt suddenly appears in her life.

Jackson Hunt is sexy, mysterious and is keeping something from Kelsey. A few chance meetings has Kelsey interested. She wants to get in his pants. Badly. Jackson is keeping her at arms length. He proposes that they travel for a week and maybe he'll kiss her. She agrees. Let the romp through Europe commence. Within that time, Jackson and Kelsey get to know each other. The chemistry between them burns hot and soon there's more at stake than just a kiss and mysterious phone calls don't help bridge that emotional gap between them.

Take one part Chasing Liberty, throw in a European adventure worthy of a Mary Kate and Ashley movie, give it the Cora Carmack treatment and you've got a fantastic read that will have your heart racing, your diaphragm getting an abtastic workout, and finally rooting for these two people to shut up and make it work. Carmack's writing is the perfect blend of angst, sexiness, heartbreak and a whole lot of laughs wrapped in pop culture references.

Favorite Quote:
My amused stalker had olive-toned skin, dark eyes, and hair cut close to his head. He had that muscled, military look about him, which sparked half of a dozen dirty puns in my head about him invading my territories. Plus, he was tall with a permanent smolder that would have made Tyra Banks stop the crazy train and stare.

I did not love this book at first. In fact, I pretty much had to force myself to pick up my Kindle in order to get through it at first. It was Kelsey's fault. She was just too much for me to take. I couldn't blame her for her self-hating ways because I wasn't a big fan of her either...at first. It wasn't her party girl ways or her promiscuity that I had a problem with. It was that she was a delusional brat and a cliche. She was traveling the world on Daddy's money while complaining about how horrible her family was. She was claiming to be seeking adventure and living in the now while she did the same thing over and over again. She acted as though she was perfectly fine on her own but she always seemed to need a babysitter. So I read the first third of the book about 10 pages at a time, always setting the book down to give my eyes a break from rolling. But then she started experiencing real adventures with Jackson and she started to open up. Getting to know the real Kelsey and what skeletons were hidden in her closet made all the difference. Some of the book still dragged a bit but mostly it was very good. One of the best things about the book was Carmack's descriptions of the places Jackson and Kelsey traveled to. She has a real knack for inspiring wanderlust. Jackson's secret was pretty obvious from the beginning but it wasn't a big deal because it felt more like a secret that the reader was keeping with Jackson than a spoiled twist. The end of the book was very sweet and romantic but also a bit brief. I'm hoping it was brief because Carmack plans to revisit them in one of her "Her" novellas. Anyhoo, I would and do recommend this book but with the warning to stick it out if you feel like quitting at first. It gets better.

This was a great addition to Cora Carmack's Losing It Series. If you haven't read the others, you should give them a go. However, I think it's safe to say that Kelsey's story is separate enough that you can read it without knowing what happened before. Mostly, that's because Kelsey's role in the other two, Losing It and Faking It, is minimal. You can't really understand Cade's story as well if you aren't familiar with what happens between him and Bliss in Losing It. But Kelsey's adventure with Hunt is a completely separate (and scorching hot!) affair.

Loved the push/pull between Kelsey and Hunt. Their chemistry and the build-up to their romance was hot and sometimes very sweet. The big reveal wasn't a shock, but I've always said that I don't mind a predictable plot if the characters are likeable. And Jackson Hunt is way beyond likeable - hot, brooding, mysterious, sexy and loving. What's not to like? Plus, hello! Europe!

Can't wait for Seeking Her, the companion novel to this story. Though I often prefer to have both POV in the story, in this case, I can see why it couldn't happen that way. It lends a balance to the series, too. Losing It/Keeping Her, with Bliss/then Garrick's POV; then Faking It, which brings both Cade and Max's POV; now Finding It/Seeking Her for Kelsey/Hunt. Faking It is probably my favorite, still, but this is an awfully close second.

Great addition to this series!

I wasn't sure how I would feel about Kelsey at first as she comes off as a spoiled rich girl traveling the world for lack of anything else to do, but I ended up really liking her and being able to respect the choices she has made and the path she took. The book is written from her POV and gets intense sometimes as you learn more about her and her past.

Hunt is an ex-military man she "runs across" on her travels across the world. He is mysterious and hot and cold at times. As he reveals himself more to Kelsey you get to see why he is the way he is and when he finally opens up, OMG! I want a Hunt of my very own to wander around Italy with and then chase me to Spain!

I can't wait for #3.5 from Hunt's POV!

It's great to learn to know another side of Kelsey. I liked her in "Loosing it" but now we get to really know her and it's fascinating. We learn about all her insecurities and it brings us back to ous own insecurities.

Finding It is the third in the Losing It series by Cora Carmack, I downloaded it along with Faking it after finishing, and really enjoying Losing It.

Kelsey Summers left college to travel around Europe, hoping to leave her mark on the world, be the girl that travelled, be the girl that's been everywhere. She is managing pretty well, until she finds herself the centre of Hunt's attention. She spots Hunt laughing at her from across a Budapest bar and waltzes over to confront him, in her usual manner, expecting him to fall at her feet and worship her. Wrong, Hunt is more of a challenge than Kelsey ever expected and as they wind up walking home together, in circumstances Kelsey didn't anticipate, their journey together is only beginning.

The story centres around character Kelsey, she is a secondary character in Losing It, introduced to us as Bliss's best friend. When I realised that the book was about Kelsey, I wasn't sure how keen I was, and if I was even going to like it. In Losing It she appeared to me as the pushy, bolshie best friend who was used to getting her own way. In the beginning Kelsey appeared to be the same way, gets what she wants, when she wants, but after she meets Hunt, her character appears to stutter in the realisation that she can't always get what she wants.

After meeting him, Hunt had a good effect on Kelsey's character for me. It brought out some depth, letting you see as you read about her that she wasn't just a shallow, spoiled princess and in actual fact she has a bit of a past which is a burden she has to carry.

Jackson Hunt's character is a bit of a mystery. His feelings aren't obvious, and unlike with Faking It, the story is told purely from Kelsey's point of view, so you only get to unpick his character, bit by bit, as she does. Being told from only Kelsey's point of view adds to the story though as it keeps the mystery going, and keeps you turning the pages (or swiping your e-reader) to find out more and more.

Kelsey and Hunt's relationship grows from that first meeting. Kelsey needs rescued, in more ways that she knows, and Hunt appears to be at her disposal. The pair set off together to finish Kelsey's Eurotrip, with threats of her father making her return to America at the forefronts of their minds.

Various European cities are the setting to this story. The culture complimenting Kelsey's own colourful life where the history and stories from each city paint the story behind Hunt's eyes and compliment his story.

The story is filled with passion and romance is practically thumping off the pages, especially when the couple travel to the romantic climes of Italy. A fab read, I can definitely recommend the whole series, it might follow the girl meets guy, they end up together plot line but the mystery and storyline it takes is something that will have you turning the pages until the very end.

Although this is the third book in the series it can easily be read as a stand-alone, very little spoilers are given to the previous books while still giving adequate detail of past events applicable to the other characters.

Told in first person narrative from Kelsey's perspective. The only things we know of Kelsey prior to this is that she is Bliss's best friend and the epitome of a party girl. Cora Carmack's trademark sarcastic inner monologues aid the character building within the story, bringing Kelsey to life within the imagination and endearing her to the reader.

Kelsey has cultivated the poor little rich girl facade as a defense mechanism, mentally escaping an incident from her pre-teens. Her parents are emotionally distant with a multitude of issues hidden by wealth. One of the reasons Kelsey chose to study acting is that she has had to act in real life for so long its an easy escape for her. However, the emotional baggage she is carrying from not deal with her issues is literally crushing her with its weight.

Struggling for perspective in her life, Kelsey embarks on a journey across Europe in an attempt to outrun her memories and restrictions of her family life. She soon realises that she can't outrun herself. The trials and tragedies we face in our lives shape the people we become but it is ultimately up to us to move on and not let specific incidents define the person we are. A hard lesson for Kelsey to learn. It is only after meeting the delectable Jackson Hunt that Kelsey starts to come to terms with her actions and family relationships, although her defense mechanisms are so firmly entrenched it is a huge internal battle for Kelsey to examine; at times it was heart breaking to follow.

The mystery surrounding Jackson I found easy to figure out, I think it is because I read something similar a few weeks ago. His background allowed him a deeper understanding of Kelsey than anyone else; getting under her skin and making her examine incidents, actions and re-actions. At this same time the intensity of Kelsey's feelings and crumbling defenses take it's emotional toll on Kelsey.

The story tied together beautifully aided by the stunning, descriptive writing bringing the setting and imagery to colourful life. My one complaint is that I could have really done with an epilogue - I adore epilogues and become so invested in the characters that I need to know what happens next in their lives.

Finding It blends humour and romance with heart-breaking ease; giving a wonderful, fast-paced, character driven addition to a fabulous series.

I love the way that Cora Carmack writes, you really feel like your almost there watching the story play out!
At first I wasn't sure I liked Kelsey, but as you learn't more about her she was just a very hurt lonely girl. Jackson was hot from the start but also had his own ghosts to deal with.
Well worth reading, hope to see more from Carmack.
