You get high performance stagger tooth design on all larger diameter bits (over 1 or 25mm) for clean sharp holes with straight sides and flat bottoms. These bits are ideal for drill presses, electric and cordless drills. CMT Forstner bits are 3-9/16" in overall length.

I could see through the package that it wasn't going to work well. The cutting edges had chips and burrs in them and the teeth along the edge aren't even close to sharp. You could probably sharpen them if you like that sort of thing and have time, but I'm sending them back. I also ordered the 2" bit and both were of the same poor quality.
