This book is well written with so much information and insight you're not going to find searching on the internet. It opened my eyes to to so many things and the scenarios are one's I'm sure we all can sympathize with. It's worth it. I'm very thankful I came across this title.

I have been w/ my girlfriend 2 years and lets just say, the first year & a half we had to live with my unmarried mother while my girlfriend was in nursing school. Living in a smaller home, her and I had a room right by my mothers so getting intimacy was such a struggle in so many aspects! No alone time unless planned in advance. We did however, move into our own apt a few months ago. Realizing we had to pick up where we left off and had a lot of unresolved issues & resentments, this book changed everything! Very well exicutited, stays on top, great examples, and worth every penny! Her and I are celebrating our two year anniversary next month and so excited we can barely wait!

Sexual Intimacy for Women is a must-read book, whether you're just beginning to explore yourself sexually or whether you consider yourself more experienced. Dr. Corwin uses a combination of scientific evidence and clinical experience and examples to tackle some very difficult and private issues. Topics include body image, aging, fidelity issues, sexual abuse, lesbian parenthood, communication, and orgasm. Another beauty of the book is that the chapters pretty much stand on their own, so you can read them in any order you wish. At the end of every chapter is an area entitled "Your Turn," in which Dr. Corwin puts forth thought-provoking questions that the reader can work through. Her style of writing is so easy and fluid that it's like having a conversation with a very close friend!

Dr. Corwin knows her stuff. She gives great advice and shares stories to illustrate it. Lesbians often lose interest in sex for many reasons but Dr. Corwin points out why it is so important and can be brought back into a relationship to help us grow and be happier.

Glenda Corwin's book is without a doubt the most helpful available on this subject. She has done her own research, and comes down sensitively but clearly on the side of having sex in your long-term lesbian relationship! She then goes on to give practical advice on how to rekindle sexuality through making the conscious decision to take responsibility for your own turn-on and practice "24 hour foreplay." Throughout, her tone is highly readable and respectful. I highly recommend this book and plan to make a practice of giving it as a wedding gift to lesbian couples. 85% of them may need it someday, and Dr. Corwin's advice could save them years of frustration and heartache, breaking up, or settling for a sexless friendship.

This book helped me a lot. As someone that has not had a lot of experience with women (since I am still young), this book helped me realize just how different women can be, even those in the lesbian community. Just the way our bodies work, what we like and may not like...the differences in sexual preference and what we consider intimacy. I find that this sheds a light on a lot of issues that women might not know that they have, and I have seen many women that would do good with giving this book a look-over before they break up over something that can be turned around, something that can be fixed.

Sexual Intimacy for Women, is written in an easy to read style. But more than that it is filled with solid researched information, which is backed up by stories of couples from Dr. Corwin's practice. As well, most chapters conclude with a series of questions designed to help you expand and incorporate what you've just read into your own life. I have been singing the praises of this book since it came out. I definitely recommend this book.

A sensible, compassionate, well informed but not overly jargony demystification of lesbian sex. It doesn't happen by magic; it's in our hands (literally!) Better sex is possible and this books gives a practical approach to achieving this, with kindness and just enough humour to keep things from getting too serious. Well worth reading.

4.0 out of 5 stars NB: written for Couples.

I enjoyed the writers dialogue but found the real life stories dragged on a bit.
Would rather have less relationship examples and more psychology.
