LCD is fragile
I pressed down on the LCD screen while plugging in the cord and the screen shattered. Obviously LCD screens aren't very strong but the plastic covering it could be a bit thicker. I didn't return it because technically it was my fault, but I think it should be made a little more sturdy.

This is perfect for anyone starting into the zero carbon foot print journey. The only down side (I take blame) I was so focused on getting rid of my 9v, AA and AAA batteries I lost my thought about the remaining C and D batteries we use which is not that many but still.... In hindsight I should have went for the multiple charger that included C/D batteries as well.
The batteries I picked up as well are working pretty good but I will leave these out of this review.
The setup and charging was really easy and I love that it can charge a full range to a mix of AA and AAA as needed. They fix snug enough that there should be no connection faults for the charger to monitor while charging.
The LED readout is clear and pretty accurate against different brands so far which I thought was really convenient.

Anyone starting or moving to chargeables I would recommend this brand and device as a good start but also think about a kit that can cover all your battery differences.

Third Update: Tried out the replacement charger yesterday and it is excellent. It is clear now that my first unit was defective. I was a little concerned that the replacement might have the same issues. I loaded it with 10 aa's yesterday and did not check it for a few hours, given the last unit took ten or more to charge. When I looked to check their progress, they were completely charged. I can't say exactly how long it took, because it surprised me with its speed, but it seemed at least as fast as my panasonic/eneloop. Using as many rechargeables as I do, this charger is a welcome addition to our home.
Update: EBL has come through with spectacular customer service. I am raising my review to five stars because they took it upon themselves to address the issues I was having with the charger without my requesting action on their part. I now have a replacement charge. While I have not yet tried it out (it came just a few moments ago), I am confident it will perform well. I say this because I have two other EBL chargers and numerous EBL batteries that are serving me well. I understand that once in a while a sub-par product will slip through. Thus, the only complaint I have about the charger is that the cord could have been a bit longer. Given the level of customer service and integrity of EBL, Ithis is too small a concern to lower their rating. I am happy to revise it to five stars.
I have had perhaps a dozen four slot chargers through the years, mostly Panasonics. I use rechargeables extensively, with over sixty AA's in service at present. I had hoped this would allow me to speed up the recharging process, as some of my cycles involve twenty batteries. Unfortunately, this unit takes eight to twelve hours to recharge batteries. It also runs hot, hitting about 140 F while in use charging 10 AA batteries. Finally, the cord barely makes it from the floor to the edge of a standard height table, making it awkward to use. I have had good results with EBL batteries and thus had high hopes for this charger. Unfortunately, my Panasonic four slot charger can recharge 12 batteries before this can do ten.
Update 1/17/18: EBL promptly contacted me after I posted this review and indicated I may have received a faulty unit. I will update the review with any further developments.

I needed to recharge 10 cells at a time and this device seemed to fit the bill. The display is bright and clear, and it certainly does accommodate 10 AA cells (or AAA). It also can recharge 2 x 9-volt NiMH but honestly I have no use for that feature. Nice to have for the future, I guess.

The main issue is the peculiar spring-loaded mechanism which is difficult to use. I'm pretty mechanically minded, and I find the springs a bit stubborn. You have to push them exactly right, or else friction prevents them moving.

The best way seems to be to pull the tab back with one hand while inserting a battery with the other. Slow and tedious. Then, to remove the batteries can be a hassle; it's hard to free them up because the tabs are quite tight. I would call this a poor design decision.

I have charged various brands of AA and AAA batteries with this charger, and it does work well. The AC converter circuitry is internal to the device, so no external adapter is needed; it uses a simple Sony-style appliance AC cable. I just leave it plugged in all the time and it appears not to draw current, or draws trivial amounts of current, until batteries are inserted.

Since the charger works otherwise, I'll keep using it until it dies. But it's an annoyance so I take off one star. The charging feature and display are nice, however, once you get past the hassles of the spring-loaded battery holder.

la carga independiente de cada una de las pilas es una importante ventaja, solo mejoraría la información que da al momento de la carga, que son solo el clásico dibujo de barras en una pila, me gustaría más algo más exacto como el porcentaje, y poder comprar la opción sin las de 9v.
