Immortal Killers (Nathan K Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars 267 ratings

"Fantasy at its best, fast, fun, furious, crazy, and immortal!" - 5-star reader review

Nathan K — he can hold two souls in his body. If he dies, he loses one yet lives on with the other. As long as he replenishes his second soul, he cannot be killed. Nathan K is immortal.

DYING IS EASY

When Nathan gains his immortality, he learns that living forever is hard. Being immortal throws him into a world of government spies, crime syndicate couriers, and elite assassins. A world in which mankind is second class. A world where one has all eternity to master anything. And Nathan’s not the only one.

But he wants nothing to do with such a dangerous world. He wants to help people, not destroy them. However, trying to escape those who know what he is will prove far more difficult than dying. And it might take forever.

Jaffe brings another series that delivers lightning-paced thrills with a fantasy twist. More 5-star reader reviews: "Hooked from the start." "Excellent start to a great series" "An all nighter!!!!!" Immortal Killers (Nathan K Book 1) by Stuart Jaffe is a great action, adventure, fantasy story that grabs the reader right away and keeps them until the end, and then won't let go! Our hero, a hard working guy just had to be in the wrong place and gets killed but sucked up into a immortal body that can house an extra soul. This extra soul comes in handy so if he should die, the immortal just loses the stolen soul and keeps his own. Our hero, Nathan, decides that he is going to fight and not be sent off and takes over the immortal body. So now, dead to his family and friends, he is in a new immortal body and surrounded by a bunch of crazy immortals that play not-so-nice games. It is so exciting! Starting on book 2 soon! Great plot and characters, lots of twists and turns and crazy creatures of the immortal kind! Love it!

Nathan Flynn had it all, or almost – a girlfriend he’s over the moon about, a ring in his pocket, and the end of the long tunnel of law school in sight. And then, trying to do the right thing, he’s killed.

Only he isn’t, and that’s the start of a whole new life – literally – and a whole new set of problems he never, ever imagined.

We meet our protagonist, Nathan, on what should have been one of the best days of his life, and he’s propelled into one of the worst. I found him quite compelling and believable, on the whole, despite all the things that are thrown after him.

I really couldn’t put the story down except when I had to. The pacing was fast, the story interesting, and I just had to know what was coming next. I blew through it rather more quickly than I ever expected and enjoyed the entire ride.

I liked the secondary characters – or rather, I didn’t like some of them, but in the way that you want to dislike characters. A couple of them felt a little two dimensional, but I’m hoping that continuing the series will bring them more depth. Especially some of his new fellows/enemies. This is probably my number one wish. I thought the action was all well portrayed, and it kept moving.

I would also dearly love to see a certain character from the beginning get his comeuppance, but alas, that’s probably just a pipe dream. :P

Overall, a very fun read – probably a 7 or so out of 10.

The story is action packed after the MCs training. Haven't read any of the rest of the series but this book seems to sets up the main player and gives the MC his origin story pretty well.

No real good ppl in this story, seems like ppl just suck. The old ppl are really condescending, idc how old you are something's aren't right.

Great read from a great storyteller.

I haven't read Jaffe in a while. I have a signed copy of his After The Crash, that I thoroughly enjoyed. Glad I picked this one up as well.

Immortal Killers is a fast-paced, suspenseful, paranormal tale of quite ordinary Nathan Flynn who is suddenly catapulted out of his ordinary world of law school, coffee shops, and girl friend into a darkly mystical shadow world of espionage, organized crime, and immortal assassins. He becomes a man not only of two minds, but of two souls. A worthy beginning to a new series! Enjoy!

I enjoyed the story well enough but I find the premise a little silly. Probably needed more explanation like a flashback near the beginning to bring it together. I don’t have the patience to see if it comes together later

I received an advanced copy and I am so happy I got to read it. I am going to love this series and looking forward to reading about Nathans continuing journey. Very cool concept. Not really into sci-fi that much so I was pleasantly surprised that it was not what I thought it might be.
Love the Max Porter books so I had hoped this would be just as exciting. It was.
I can say i had a hard time putting it down and wanted to keep reading, waiting for the next. one
to read.
Again thank you and please keep writing.

Wasn't sure what the story would be, but it held my interest. It will be interesting to see what Nathan does in following stories.

I couldn’t get into it. I finally skipped chapters and I didn’t feel like I missed anything by skipping them

An  interesting take on  a new series. I like Nathan's character and how he struggles with being human and immortal. It's well-written, fast-paced and entertaining. I'm curious to see what comes next.

Not impressed I'm afraid. You don't use nitrogen to start a fire. Trouble with the first book, is setting the characters and plot. Was not gripped
