Debauched (Undone Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 200 ratings

One night in a moment of sheer madness I confessed my secrets to him.
All my life I’ve been pretending. Pretending to be the woman I thought I should be instead of the woman I really am. I’ve been faking it and I am good. No one has ever guessed. Except him. He just looked at me and knew.

Chad Fellows is not the man I want, but he’s fast becoming the man I need.

One night in a moment of sheer madness I held her in my arms and let her cry.
I did the right thing, letting her walk away, no matter how much she calls to the part of me that wants to rescue her. We are nothing alike, and she’s a mess of complications in a life I’m trying to keep simple. But then I touched her and made her tremble and now I can’t turn away.

Ruby Stiles is not the woman I want, but she’s fast becoming the woman I need.

About the Author

Jennifer Dawson is the author of the popular Something New series; spicy, small town romance released with Kensington, and pens the dark and edgy contemporary romance series Undone. Jennifer Dawson grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and graduated from DePaul University with a degree in psychology. She met her husband at the public library while they were studying. To this day she still maintains she was NOT checking him out. Now, over twenty years later they're married living in a suburb right outside of Chicago with two awesome kids and a crazy dog. Despite going through a light FM, poem writing phase in high school, Jennifer never grew up wanting to be a writer (she had more practical aspirations of being an international super spy). Then one day, suffering from boredom and disgruntled with a book she'd been reading, she decided to put pen to paper. The rest, as they say, is history. These days Jennifer can be found sitting behind her computer writing her next novel, chasing after her kids, keeping an ever watchful eye on her ever growing to-do list, and NOT checking out her husband.

I reread this book every year, it will always be one of my favorites! Chad is just the man in real life you actually want! Smart, sexy, sweet and intelligent and the best Dom, while being able to talk absolute filth! Seeing Ruby really come into her own without really changing who she is was so fun!

It is impossible to describe in words how much I love this book! I have reread it several times and do it as soon as I need some comfort or something hot to think about. As soon as someone wants a recommendation for a book, I recommend this one. The whole series is wonderful and a personal favorite. I really wish I could be a part of the gang.

Chad and Ruby's story is so real, warm and so so so hot! It is impossible not to love them. Jennifer's books are always focused on the couple, their journey towards an HEA and character development. You get minimal side drama and other characters that steal the focus. So too in this book.

Chad is just everything you want in a man and the ultimate book boyfriend! 500 books later and no one has succeeded to push him down from the throne.

**I received an ARC from the author for an honest review**

I was very fortunate to receive an ARC of this book as I couldn't wait to dive into Chad and Ruby's story. We last saw Chad and Ruby in the Valentines Day novella (Unravelled) where Ruby and Chad made a connection that neither of them wanted. Chad did not want to get involved with a D/s novice and be responsible for everything that entails and Ruby was strongly against the idea of submission and the misconceptions she's had of that growing up in a deeply religious, conservative household.

But chemistry cannot be denied! Two months after that night, Chad was on a mission and Ruby was the endgame. He wanted her to realize her own hidden desires and wanted to be the man to bring it out of her.  Dawson did a phenomenal job of painting the different facets of "The All American Boy Next Door" and the "rocker bad/goodgirl" and their sexy, fiery and combustible (seemingly at first glance) opposites attract relationship.

Lets start with Chad. God was he sexy and that dirty mouth. Lord. He was absolutely incredible. I legit couldn't even remember Michael and Leo and I LOVEEEEE those boys. I also really enjoyed Ruby and her "bad@$$" self and couldn't wait to further delve into their story. However, I found myself slightly frustrated with her inability to accept the lifestyle while using her family background as a crutch one too many times. I wanted her to reach out to her two closest girlfriends and delve into their experiences so that she could accept her relationahip with Chad vs. hiding and downplaying what they really had with one another.

All in all this was an incredible addition to the series. I loved Chad and Ruby together and felt that the author couldn't have paired a better couple. I'm glad that the glimpses we received of Chad and Ruby in the previous books all led to this wonderful book.  I really, REALLLY hope that we receive additional books in this series  (*AHEM* Brandon's book!!) as it is one of my most favorite series. This is Emotional Erotica at its best. Bravo!

I enjoyed books 1 and 2, but this one was my favorite so far. Chad and Ruby were written as though they were real and we really got an insight into both of them during their journey of discovery. Usually, books lean more towards the females, but this one gives Chad as much time as Ruby. This allows us to really understand his thoughts and emotions, and pulls you in deeper. Their journey of discovery was realistic and interesting, totally relatable. I had a couple of favorite parts, but it’s when Ruby learns not every story is as it seems that really had me laughing! I loved the reality of it. I’d recommend this book easily. Solid 5 stars for a realistic, relatable, easy read!

Jennifer Dawson is my new favorite erotic author! I just finished the Undone series which surpassed my expectations and Debauched was the best of the bunch. Ms. Dawson's background in psychology brings depth and an element to her writing that is sadly missing in this genre. Her romance books are good as well but her erotica is off the charts! I hope there's more in this series.

Chad is a dominant and Ruby is fighting her submissive tendencies, but their chemistry is undeniable. This book is a delicious continuation of the series that will draw you in and not let go. A real treat!

The author did a great job fleshing out the characters of Ruby and Chad as well as showing their personal demons and personal growth, both individually, and as a couple. Their insecurities, their hopes, their dichotomy and chemistry were very well drawn by the author. I think the greatest compliment you can give is to attest to how "REAL" the characters are, and these characters were REAL, not over-the-top caricatures or flat and one-dimensional.

About the only criticism i could give this book, is that in the beginning chapter, sentence structure was too long, and descriptions of inanimate objects TOO detailed, and this went on for quite a bit, which could have been better spent on the characters.

But, other than that, i loved the characters and the growth between them.

I received this story as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I feel priveleged to have read it.
