Price is excellent and it does work, but needs adjustments!
Unfortunately even though this apple/potato pealer looks seriously awesome the results of using the pealer weren't so pretty as you can see from my pictures. I am giving this 3 stars even though my potatoes weren't pretty because it was easy to put together, easy to secure to my counters, and the instructions were clear. It also looks nice and it does indeed peel potatoes and apples very well (too well even) and it was very easy to turn the crank and get it to spin while pealing at the same time. But sadly I was unable to adjust the blade myself to get it to not completely obliterate my potatoes. I also like that if you do not want to core an item that it's easy to adjust it so you don't have to. Fortunately I was making mashed potatoes so it didn't really matter too much what the potato looked like but I would prefer if it went smoothly and didn't peal way too much off. I will have my step dad mess with it later since the blade is adjustable, I just can't adjust it myself and I will update my review if he can adjust it and get it to work better than I could. I recieved this at a discount in exchange for my honest review.

Life. Changing.

Our apple trees are loaded this year. I'm making cider like a banshee, but my family is clamoring for crisp and pie. Trouble is that I LOATHE peeling and cutting apples. LOATHE IT.

The first apple came out perfectly. I was flabbergasted at the ease. Not every apple was as easy (these are wild and irregularly shaped and blemished), but hand-peeling one or two that didn't work is SO MUCH BETTER than doing them all by hand. By the end my 4 year old was merrily helping turn the crank and eating the unpeeled rings off the end. Just so much win.

The instructions specify that it will only work with fresh crisp apples, and I can totally see that as being true. Luckily, ours come off the tree and into the kitchen, but I can imagine that stored apples won't do as well later in the season. Well, I'm still not processing those by hand, so this way we get crisp every fall season and my family has this product to thank for it!

I love to EAT but hate to cook. The Wife likes to cook but makes me work for my chow. Peeling Potatoes being my job exclusively. Recently had a 5 lb bag of spuds put in front of me to peel the old school way. It was terrible.

Bought this unit for a very decent price and it was delivered super fast. Assembly is minimal and easy.

To spite the Wife, I went and got another 5 lb bag of Potatoes. They were peeled in minutes! It was fun and clean up was easy. You can't go wrong with this Gem! Have fun.

I know there were some who posted great reviews on this particular peeler/corer/slicer which is why I chose this one. I thought it would help expedite my apple butter making. When I received the item and opened the box, there was a strong rubber odor. I attributed this to the rubber on the bottom for suction, however it was quite strong. I also could not determine where this item was made, which I believe was China. The 1st apple I tried worked just fine, however after that I had problems keeping the corer/slicer blade from moving. I tightened the thumb screw as tight as I could, even with pliers, but to no avail. It just kept moving, so I held the top of it to steady it, which worked somewhat ok, but that's not how it was intended to be used. It made more mess and really didn't take much less time had I peeled, cored and sliced the apples by hand. I am returning it today.

I bought this to peel 44 lbs. of apples for applesauce. It worked okay. The peeling mechanism spring fell off within the first 10 minutes. My husband was able to fix it for me. Every once in awhile I would get an apple that it would basically crush and I would have to pry it off of the prongs. It wasn't a big deal but when everything is sticky and wet from apple juice it's irritating and slippery. I still had to get my manual peeler out to try to salvage the crushed apples. I hand washed the peeler in warm soapy water with a little bit of Dawn and there were spots on the peeler that rusted. I also used it to peel potatoes for Potato Soup and it worked about the same as the apples. I would chop the potatoes in half and load them on the peeler but it would not peel the very end of the potato so once again I had to get the manual peeler out and finish it by hand. I have granite counter tops and it stuck to the counters pretty well. There were a couple of times I had to reseal it to the counter top. I am not sure if I would buy again. Since I have to get the manual peeler out every time to finish the job it may just be faster to do it myself. Clean up would definitely be faster.

The apple harvest is often a sticky time of finger injuries - not this year. This device cores, peels and slices for uniform width on apple slices which translates to great pie filling.
It stuck very well to my stainless steel countertop.
I did note that on massive apples (my primary cooking tree is a mature Twenty Ounce, so I mean apples greater than 3.5+-4+ inches in diameter) the core was too thick to pass through the corer and this actually bent one of the fork tines a bit. BUT - with one tine slightly angled, removing the cores is easier, so no foul. But I would recommend on the really huge apples hand processing would work better.
The truly best aspect of this gadget: less waste! I feel significantly less flesh is wasted here than by hand peeling. The blade width is adjustable; for perfectly shaped apples use it on the thin setting. For 'ugly', bumpier apples, make the depth a bit thicker. STILL less waste than hand peeling. I get a lot more apple on the cooker which is excellent.
Great device overall. I love it.

I really wanted to like this thing, because my wife likes baking, and I like pies, and it'd be a serious win-win over here. But first and foremost, the product inspection is a failure (unless Amazon shipped me a used one, which didn't seem to be the case). The wooden handle is backwards on ours (easy enough to fix, since it's just a screw, but come on!), and the metal circle-hole flap on the end was on backwards (again, easy to flip, it was just a wingnut.) Otherwise, at least the base suction is strong, and the rod is long enough to handle the largest apples I've been able to feed it.
Only other problem is that this thing puts a lot of pressure on the fruit, making it juice like crazy. I strongly suggest you use this thing over the sink or you'll be cleaning up some juice afterward.
Saying all this, I have to admit I haven't used it for more than the first pie. I haven't tried the slicing aspect, and haven't reversed the handle yet. But I get the impression just a coring cylinder and a standard vegetable peeler would get your job done in just the same amount of time. I guess I was hoping for the moon.
