These cat cups are so cute that they are obviously intended for the young chef in your life. The sloped-angled design is impractical for measuring the dry ingredients of brown sugar (you can’t press down without it spilling over one side or the other), and the wide-mouth brim makes whipping eggs impossible. But, so what? Just prep those ingredients in your glass or stainless steel container.These cups are good for measuring free-falling ingredients like white sugar, flour, oatmeal and the like. The cat tail-style handle is easy for smaller hands to grasp and the ceramic finish means the ingredients will slide right out into the mixing bowl or cooking pot.Turn food prep into fun prep with this set. I've had these for a couple years now, and I LOVE them. I don't use them for everyday cooking because I'm a bit of a klutz in the kitchen, but I do use them on occasion, and I enjoy having them around. Let's be honest: we don't buy a set of cute ceramic measuring cups purely for their practicality. They are functional, but more than that, they're adorable. Definitely a fun gift item, but if you're thinking of purchasing them as a gift for a specific occasion, I'd recommend leaving yourself a little extra time for a replacement *just in case* they don't make it through shipping with their ceramic tails intact. My set arrived in great shape and are one of my favorite items in my kitchen.

I bought these as a present for a friends who is getting married. I ordered them and they came on time, were not damaged, and look like they could be used easily. I have read comments about some orders being damaged but my order was packaged very carefully and there were not problems. I have also seen a comment that says they were not good for dry measure because the fill line wasn't visible enough. I would have to disagree, the fill line is very prominent and I doubt there will be any problems. Also they are very cute, smooth, and look exactly like they do in the picture.

These things are really, really cute. I love cooking and I love cats, and these were the perfect decoration.
Note that I say decoration. The truth is that they feel pretty brittle and I would not be comfortable reaching these into a tub of brown sugar. Besides, the dashed line for volume is on the inside, below the ridge (so you can't smooth off the top for measuring solids. They're only good for measuring liquids.
I would not use these for cooking, but I would definitely buy more as decorative gifts for cat-lover friends.

I bought two sets of these (one as a gift) and they were adorable. It's hard to read the fill line on the inside of the darker colored cups. But that wasn't a deal breaker for me. They were packaged well and none were broken. Lots of Styrofoam bits came out of the box though, be careful when you open it if you don't want that stuff all over the floor. I have put them in the dishwasher several times, they are holding up well so far.
