I was lucky enough to receive a review copy of this book. Let me tell you, I was VERY lucky because the book was so good! Packed full of action with characters you will fall in love with this book had it all Emma s rescued by a team of elite SEALS after being the lone survivor of a plane crash that went down in the rain forest of a small island in the Philippians, killing her boss, the wife of the ambassador.
Her life is put in danger as she works to clear the pilots name when she discovers that the official verdict for the crash was being put down as pilot error.
Ryan was a part of the team of SEALS that rescued Emma and is now determined to keep her safe as the danger escalates around her!
AS usual Laura Griffin does an excellent job pulling you into the story and leaving you wanting more!
Next Please!

Emma Wright is on a government plane with the ambassadors wife and her staff when it goes down in the Philippine jungle. Emma has to try to survive using her own resources in a hostile environment with unfriendly locals. Ryan Owen is a member of a top secret seal team sent in to rescue any survivors. Emma and Ryan are attracted to each other during the mission. Now back in California Ryan is trying to forget Emma and she is trying to uncover the true reason for the crash, even if it puts her in danger. This is the first part of a 2 part series and it hooked me. I can hardly wait for part two! I would give it a 4 1/2 if I could. It has plenty of action and suspense to keep the reader interested.

Great premise and start to a story. I thought this was a stand-alone book, not part of a story, which is my fault as it does say part 1 in the title. The book does a good job developing the background and idea of danger still existing while introducing and building vivid characters. The Alpha team is intriguing as an elite of the elite SEALs concept and their dynamic is clear in military action or bars. I have a lot of questions form the family, relationship, potential coverups, etc. But I am guessing that will all be handled in part 2?

I happened to love this story and everything about it EXCEPT for the fact that it was only 1/2 of the the book. I understand there being series, I've read loads of them, but this literally took me just over an hour to read..so super short for a pretty high price. I don't understand what people are complaining about when it comes to the story itself, it's wonderfully written, I love that there is a romance involved and hope it ends well for them. This author happens to be one that I buy without even reading the synopsis as I've never disliked anything she's written, so it's my fault for not reading (right in the title) that this was the first part. I really hope that the author continues with the other characters in the "crew" as well, but maybe one book for each of them. Totally reccomendation this, but maybe wait until the 2nd book is out so you're not left hanging.

Great story! I love Emma and Ryan. Ryan is a SEAL....I love stories with SEAL's in them. The plane Emma is on crashes in the jungle and Ryan rescues Emma, the only survivor. From there on, there is mystery, thrills, love (maybe:?) and a great story. This is Part 1 of a 2-part story and....if you get part 1, get part 2 also because the story is concluded there and you WILL want part two. This story is only on Kindle, I prefer paper books, but this is well worth buying. Laura griffin has another winner here.

J: This is such a really good story. I was all into it and suddenly it just stopped and left me hanging. This is one of my favorite author's, so when this book came out I rushed to get it without noticing that it is only PART 1. It is not like the others that are a complete story in a series. I now have to wait for part 2, and hope there will not be a part 3 to complete this story.

I love Laura Griffins books. Can't wait til next one comes out. This was part 1 of 2 so kept me in suspense until part 2 was released which fortunately was only several weeks. I love the way she writes, the dialogue between characters, the characters themselves, the plot, suspense, everything. She and Sandra Brown are my 2 favorite authors.

I have read many of Laura Griffins books and have always loved them. What happened to her in this one is puzzling to me. This book is so incredibly ridiculous it's pathetic. A woman has just been in a plane crash in the middle of jungle. She chooses to leave the plane to find help - duh, in the jungle? Returns to plane to find the pilot shot to death. A super elite team of four are sent in to rescue. Leader finds her and while waiting for extraction they have sexual fantasies about each other. Give me a break. This book is so unbelievably ridiculous it doesn't really deserve one star. Then book ends in middle of story. If this supposed to have me bye next book, forget it. Don't waste your money on this one. Very disappointed in this authors shift in writing.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nur ein halbes Buch
Reviewed in Germany on November 21, 2017

Terrible, one book split in two. Was always fond of her books but to have to read two books for one simple story is ridiculous

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book but?

I have read nearly everything by this lady especially her Trasers novels (it's about time we had another) and I liked this book to. Ok well it was a bit oh my god it's about sex thinking about sex etc, which is unusual for her but I went with the flow so to speak and getting to the end I suddenly realised that the second book and found I was enjoying it but it wasn't a stand alone it's the second part of this story.
I think part 1 should have clued me put it down to the fact as far as I know this author does not print her books in two parts which is the norm nowadays but which I think spoils it because I have had to read the story before to refresh my mind so many times lately I get right p****d off it all seems a rip of.
I don't mind if the books are really cheap so much or a full length novel in several parts but I read this book in a matter of hours and I'm talking two-three in bed and tired so goes to show its "short".
I never thought she would be the sort of author to allow this and to put the blame solely on the publishing people would be a cop out because its her novel and I'm sure she has some say BUT after all my ranting yes! I did enjoy it and I'm sure the second will be just as good and just as short but still the price of a full book.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not a typical Laura Griffin book
Reviewed in Canada on April 2, 2016
I found it hard to believe this was a Laura Griffin book. I'm usually a big fan of hers but this two-part series is a hot mess. It's full of insta-love nonsense. The sex scenes are creepy and feature two people who literally never listen to each other. Save your money and re-read one of her Tracer books instead. I did buy both books as I wanted to see where it would end but I DNFed the second book at 48%. I just can't bear it.
