This is one of the best books available for learning programming and learning Python. The examples given are easy to run, and teach the language well. It is structured to take you step by step through learning Python. If you are new to programming or just new to Python this will be a very useful book.

One issue though is the binding of this book is very poor. The binding essentially broke right after I started reading.

Another thing was that I think Sweigart is a bit overly enthusiastic about automating tasks with Python. In one example he suggests writing a Python script for telling you the weather, where you can type the city from the command line. For most people this will not be a big time saver over going to Google and searching for the weather. I was hoping for more advanced automation suggestions.
