As a Man Thinketh Paperback – December 7, 2020

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 398 ratings

"As a Man Thinketh" is a literary essay by James Allen, first published in 1902.

In more than a century it has become an inspirational classic, selling millions of copies worldwide and bringing faith, inspiration, and self healing to all who have encountered it. The title comes from the Bible: "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he." -- Proverbs, chapter 23, verse 7

As himself Allen describes, “It shows how, in his own thought-world, each man holds the key to every condition, good or bad, that enters into his life, and that, by working patiently and intelligently upon his thoughts, he may remake his life, and transform his circumstances. …and it can be carried in the pocket.”

This is hands down the best book I’ve ever read. I plan to read this book at least once a year but I’m sure I’ll read it more than that. It’s not too long and packed with useful thoughts and information. This book should be required reading for high school students all across the U.S. Well past 5 star’s!

I ran into this content from a motivational type video on youtube. It turns out, the 40 minute video I had been listening to almost every night for weeks, is an exact transcription of this book. I thought it was a summary. This book is a tiny paperback book, with 37 pages. Possibly the most beautifully written and valuable 37 pages you may ever read however. I just did not realize, it was tiny.

A book that awakes your inner powers. A reminder of yourself worth and hidden or ignored talents. What a path to self discovery, self-eminding and eye-opener this work is.

I WISH I HAD SEEN THIS BOOK FIVE YEARS AGO. Nonetheless, it's NEVER TOO LATE.

Thank you so much, James Allen.

Every human should read this book many times. It is short, easy to read, and explains clearly how our mind is a garden and will produce--either weeds or beautiful flowers depending on what we feed it.

It's a great book to remind yourself of the value of taking personal responsibility, that the only person you can change is yourself, and is a good guide to help when taking an honest look at your thoughts and actions day to day. Buy two copies and give one away.

This book is small but powerful. It is full of mindful information and wisdom.
The book's overall message is that you are what you believe in and only by effort you get results.
" You will be what you will to be".
