Manufacturing
'At Aero Precision we’re known for two things: superior engineering & machining, and the ability to get the customer what they need, when they need it. Our products have been recognized across the country by members of the military and law enforcement communities for a simple fact - they work better.'
Aero Precision’s roots are deeply tied to aerospace, and our drive for clean, perfect engineering and machining stems from that. When you’re building something that will fly in the air, there is no margin for error. We take that same approach in the firearms industry. Not every manufacturer will have razor thin tolerance levels. Not every manufacturer will personally oversee the development, design and machining of every part that comes off the line. We’re not every manufacturer.

If I have one complaint (which is true for most vertically split rings, it is level shifting when tightening down the rings. Once you know what that is, I usually account for .1 to .15 variance (on a digital level) and start the scope 'out of level' by that much. During the process of progressively tightening down the rings it will shift to 0/0, a perfect level.
These mounts are a little tricky to install as they tend to want to rotate the scope counter clockwise up to 5 degrees when tightening. I’ve found it best to install a half a bubble off of level such that the scope rotates in to level with the rifle when torqued to 15 lbs. this can take a couple of tries to get right but it’s far easier than trying to prevent the scope from rotating. (If anyone has figured out a better approach, I’d love to know)
The only thing I would do to improve this mount would be to redesign the rings such that the rotation isn’t an issue. Still, since I know what I’m getting myself in to, and these are super durable and perform very well, I will continue to be Aero mounts as long as they are available.
At about half the normal price, consider it an excellent value, will likely buy more. Not sure I'd use on high calibers, could see top of rings shifting a bit from recoil or a hard bump, but no such issues have been experienced.
