No one else but Susan Bates makes these. It enables knitters/crocheters to weave in even very short ends because you don’t just have the eye as in a regular darning needle, you have the entire tool. You can load the yarn end at the tip, weave it in and pull it through so it works more like a sewing machine needle. The photo shows the how far I can get to the end of the end and still use the tool. I’ve left the ends until I block the garment and then I’ll snip them all. I see reviews that say the needles are flimsy and break or catch the yarn. I've had mine for more than 5 years? or so and havent had that problem. In fact, I just re-ordered a set because I lost a couple. I wonder how they are being used to cause breakage. They are flexible and I only use them with a matched yarn weight. And I only use them to weave in ends into the kntted fabric. I wouldnt use them to sew seams or try to get through anything other than knit or crochet items..
