First Time User And It Worked Great!

First Time User And It Worked Great!
I bought this a while back and I was very happy with the product. I didn't want to review until I learned and knew what I was doing. Four-months laters and I'm still working with this product. I had never done flower drying before but I wanted to try because my mother has a beautiful garden. She has all colors and all types of flowers, so I figured she won't mind me cutting up a couple for some projects. She did agree, but only if I also made jewelry pieces for her.Like everything else, you have a learning curve. The first time I left my flowers to long, they still held the color, but they were too dry. I want to say almost burned? If that makes sense. It wasn't like they burst into flames, they just were dry and falling into pieces. Once I got the hang of it I was able to figure out how much power this Silica Gel had. Usually, with this amount of 1.5 pounds, I was able to have a bigger container and a smaller one with my flowers at the same time. I have been using the same jar for months now and by now the blue crystals have turned white. I'm still using it and it still works, but since it does say to replace once they all turned blue, I thought now would be a good time to order myself another jar. When I order them, the price was good to compare to the other famous silica get that costs 30 bucks here in Amazon. I order it at $12 and it was sold with prime and from Amazon. However, I'm sad to see they don't sell it or not right now? Hopefully, they bring the product back! The price was perfect and for amount of flowers I dried; it worked perfectly for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Instructions behind paper in lid. Great results every time!

Amazing product and super easy to use. You can kind of control how the flowers dry. Always start with a layer on the bottom. For a flatter flower, just lay it flat on the bottom layer and dump more on top until it’s submerged. For something like a rose where you want the petals to be open a bit, make the bottom layer deep enough that it can hold the flower upright. Then sprinkle the silica sand over top ensuring it goes between the petals. Once it is “full” submerge the whole flower.

I find it easiest to use little prep bowls just bigger than the flower and only put one per bowl. It makes it easier to adjust the sand if needed. When they’re all in one container, I feel like I have less control since the sand spreads out too easily.

Highly recommend for keepsakes or just for fun!

I liked that gave you directions. I read lots of articles before buying. I used to save flowers. The really fragile ones I felt just turn brown. So I used fake. As in pictures looked good for the longest time, I felt for value of money the white didn't hold up color. They are much different from this photo.
