Like many, I have been fortunate enough with my job during the COVID-19 pandemic to be able to do most of my work from home. Until now, I have done so with makeshift work arrangements that have left me feeling the dreaded familiar pain that I had largely forgotten about. I finally decided that it was time to take action. Not knowing how much longer I would be working from home, but realizing that probably even after this pandemic I would have more opportunities for remote work, I started trying to find an affordable alternative to my work setup.
I discovered Stand Steady and their manual crank standing desk. It even had the upper shelf to hold my monitors, which I knew was important for me, as when standing the monitors need to be higher than the keyboard to be ergonomically correct for my neck.
The desk came yesterday and was easily set up. With the help of my wife, it was assembled in less than 20 minutes. And being familiar with a standing desk, I wasn't expecting a desk this sturdy. It is much sturdier than the one I use at work. It feels very solid. Since it does move up and down, it can't be leaned against the wall behind it. However, I remedied this by using a rubber door stop behind the desk when stationary (see attached picture). I insert it enough to steady the desk and this makes it feel incredibly solid. There is absolutely no monitor 'jiggle' as I type or work on the desk.
I am 6'0 and for me, it takes about 38 cranks on the handle to go from a sitting to standing position, and vise versa. Easier and faster than I thought it would be.

Since we don't change desk height very often, the manual crank is sufficient. It is smooth and can be used on the right or left sides. At the university, I have a $2,000 electric adjustable height desk. Is my university one better, yes! But my university budget was much larger. For about $300, this is as good as it gets! If you try to shake it from side to side, it will move. But that is not an activity that should be done with any table. Typing and mousing as I am doing now, I notice no movement.
Since I am confined to home during the pandemic, this is my new workstation. If you sit and stand at the computer, this works quite well. I use a task stool (higher) rather than a task chair. That allows me to keep the table height at the same level when standing or sitting.
Invest in yourself! Setup a good workstation.

Assembly was pretty easy as these things go. All the holes in the right place and of the right size, all parts were included, etc. Took less than an hour. Biggest hurdle for me was the weight.
I bought the extra monitor shelf and it was definitely worth the money. Gives me lots of work space on the main desktop. Overall the desk was a good buy. Somewhat wobbly when adjusting height or if I bump into it. I think this is due to the weight of the monitors on the higher shelf. Not like it's going to tip over but more wobbly than truly ideal. Hand-drank works fine and I don't mind it (have an electric model at work). I probably adjust the height 3 times a day. I'm 5'1' and the desk goes both low enough (I have to use a footrest) and high enough for me to be comfortable. The desk surface does show fingerprints, dust, cat hair, etc. fairly well so if you really like your work space sparkly clean you would need to clean it every day. The desk developed a nasty squeaking sound the second week I used it and I thought I'd have to turn it over and tighten things up.... but the squeaking has subsided. No idea why.
All told, a good option for a reasonably priced adjustable desk.
Easy to assemble, cranks up and down easily. The desk surface wobbles a little but that is to be expected, certainly nothing that concerns me. The base and the entire desk seems very sturdy. I was impressed when assembling it, it's made to be stable.
I actually wanted the motorized version but I would have had to wait for it. I'll probably order one of those and pass this over to my office assistant. Definitely recommend.
