These tiny blocks are perfect for packing up my baby's foods for daycare. I use the 2 ounce blocks for his meals and the 4 ounce blocks for holding the leftovers. The blocks have embossed markings on the outside to show amounts. I've learned that the 2 ounce blocks fill up to just around 3 ounces if you go all the way to the top. I use them pretty much for all his meals because the blocks are small enough to still fit into his bottle warmer. The bigger blocks do as well, but they will stick out of the top.
The tiny trays are very convenient for stacking them up in either the freezer or refrigerator. I also like to use the trays to hold the blocks when I'm filling up big batches. Keeps them all nice and tidy and I can easily pop on the lids afterwards. Doesn't seem like a big deal, but because the 2 ounce blocks are tiny, they tip over easily, and I did this a couple of times before I figured out I could use the trays for corralling them.
The blocks themselves are of an excellent quality. I've put all types of foods in them and they have stood up to numerous heatings and highly dyeing foods like carrots and tomatoes. I have only heated them up in the bottle warmer so I can't speak to how they perform in the microwave. They get pretty hot from the steam, but I haven't noticed any bowing of the sides. They stand up to the high heat very well.
They wash up easily as well. I take apart all the pieces and just throw them into the dishwasher. I haven't seen any of the blocks stain or retain weird smells from the different foods we put in them.
They are also completely leak-proof. I've dropped them, thrown them into lunch bags or diaper bags, and never experienced any spills or popped lids.
Overall, these are probably my favorite buy so far now that my baby has started eating. Make sure you buy two sets because they are incredibly useful!
