What a beautiful story of having a second chance at love. I think we all have that 1 love that didn’t work out for some reason or another but never truly left your heart. This is just that story. It had me laughing at times and in tears others. Absolutely love the story that LP is able to give to us on paper. It makes us all believe that there is hope and second chances at love.

Korinne Anders thought she had it all, married to man she loved but when a tragic accident happens and turns her world upside down. She goes back home to stay with her parents unable to face the world. After months of being with them, she thinks she might be ready to move on. But doing that was harder than she thought until she saw Galen Matthews again. She was her first love. She never forgot about him.

Galen Matthews recently taken over his families business, it the best at what he does. He loves his job but when he has the chance to see his first real love again, he can believe how all of his feelings for her are still there. He never quit loving her even though she moved on. After learning what Korinne has been through, Galen is more determined to show her that she can love again if she will just give him the chance?

Korinne is surprised at the feelings and thoughts she has for Galen when she sees him again. She feels like she is betraying Carsen. She still has grieved like she should. But Galen is there to help her with that. But she has something that she must do alone. She only hopes that Galen will understand.

After Korinne has finally said her good byes to Carsen, she is more than ready to jump feet first into her relationship with Galen. And he is more than ready too move ahead with a future with them forever.

But when another tragic accident happens, Korinne can not imagine losing Galen, the man that she has always loved. Then there is a special miracle revealed during this down moments in the book. It all seems to bring their relationship full circle. Korinne believes with all heart that Galen will not leave her. They have so much to look forward too in the future.

But as we all know, life has a way of throwing us for a loop. This is just that story. Can ones love be enough to help us keep faith in love and second chances?

Glad Samantha got her story and was thrilled it was with Lukas. Throw in the adorable nephew and it was a sweet story. Didn't like Harris, and was impatiently waiting for Sam to wise up and kick him to the curb. Although it kinda was a lot more dramatic than that!

Mirror Lake feels like a community you want to live or at least visit. The Rushford family you want to be a part of-I love this series.

Lukas may be rising to fame in the pop/rock world but he knows what always felt like home, Mirror Lake and Samantha Rushford. When Lukas needs help, wants to find a safe, secure place to raise Stevie, he knows exactly where to go- home to Mirror Lake. Although he has no true ties to the community, it was always a place he felt a deep connection and a sense of belonging. It was also where Samantha Rushford was- the woman he never truly got over.

Sam is with Harris now- for 6 years- yet they aren't engaged. Harris is on a fast (is 6 years fast for a political track?)track to be a politician and Sam can't figure out where she falls in that life- if at all- she just knows that she and Harris aren't as close as they once were and she isn't sure she loves him. When Lukas returns to Mirror Lake there is no doubt she still feels a connection to him and then his adorable 5 year old nephew Stevie steals the show and her heart. What will she do when Harris decides maybe its time to get engaged with Lukas back in the picture and then when Lukas (and even Stevie) decide they want more from Samantha as well.

Cute story- love this series and hope to read many more from Mirror Lake.

Love's Second Chance is such a beautiful story. I cried my eyes out and fell in love with Korinne. She is such a strong and loving character who has been dealt some pretty difficult cards. She is faced with losing her husband to an accident and has to learn how to go on without him by her side. You will most definitely need tissues to dry your eyes. Instead of rolling over and giving up, she moves forward with the help of her awesome best friend, Jenna. Jenna helps her through her heartache like only a true friend can. She also helps her to rekindle a romance with a long lost love from Korinne's past, Galen. Be still my beating heart, this man is everything any woman could dream of. Wealthy, handsome, sexy, spontaneous and did I mention sexy? Can he be the second chance for love and happiness?

Love's Second Chance is a beautiful story of love, loss, determination and HOPE. I am filled with so many emotions as I write this review. LP Dover has touched my heart with her words and I can honestly say I will never take the time I have with my husband for granted. I think everyone should read this book! (18 +) It is a bit hot and spicy too, so be prepared for a roller coaster ride. Excellent book!!

I usually love second chance romances, but I nearly had to put this one on the DNF shelf. Although the book kind of dragged in parts, I felt like the story moved too fast. I don’t feel like 6 months is all that long, yet Korinne’s family and friends were pushing her to move on and find new love after her husband died. If that was the right amount of time for Korinne, that’s great, but I don’t know if pushing her was the right answer.

The pushing annoyed me, but then the story got cute…really cute, which annoyed me even more. It was really too sappy sweet and really, really predictable. Every single thing that happened was easy to guess from the beginning of the book to the end. But the book was also really quick and easy to read. I’ll probably read more by L.P. Dover because I did enjoy her writing style. I just hope the next one I try is a little less cavity inducing and a little less easy to figure out.

This book quite literally blew my mind! It blew my mind enough that I found it difficult to review! I was not expecting it at all! I tried so hard to slow down with it but I honestly couldn't! It was such an addicting book that made me want to read on and on! I knew who L.P. Dover was for ages before I read this book but I just hadn't had the chance to sit down and read her Forever Fae series so I was very excited when I heard about this Blog Tour and the chance to read her new contemporary! Love's Second Chance was a beautiful love story about moving on, accepting and surviving love! It was an exceptional book with absolutely no flaws! The plot was beautiful and it went at the perfect pace! I thoroughly enjoyed it! I tried so hard not to cry at the plot but I ended up crying the entire way through this book! It really hit my emotions hard and I could actually feel the pain that the characters went through! I normally cry at contemporary books but this one really made my cry! The plot also had quite a lot in it so it kept me very entertained! There were also twists in it as well! The characters were amazing! Korinne was the main character and she was beyond amazing! You saw her go through a lot at the beginning of this book and then you get to see her trying to let go and move on but you see her struggle and you can't help but feel sorry for her! She was an amazingly strong character and I simply adored her! Galen was the love interest of Korinne and he was hot! I loved how he always put Korinne first and he was so protective of her! He had also been through quite a lot so to finally see two broken characters mend each other really was amazing! I also loved all the secondary characters as well as they brought so much to the story! I loved that Love's Second Chances was written from Korinne and Galen's point of view as I think that this was definitely essential as there was so much emotion in this book that it needed to be divided! I also loved seeing the characters feelings develop for each other! The ending was beautiful! It completed the book up perfectly but I honestly wouldn't mind another book! The cover is also stunning! It is exactly how I pictured the characters while I was reading the book!

MY OPINION

I got this book for free on my Kindle, and I'm very happy with it. Sometimes, you might expect a free book to not amount to much, but this was not the case with this one. The story was heartwrenching, the characters were kind, compassionate and realistic. Galen's character is incredible, he's so patient with Korinne, he doesn't push her into a relationship with him. He understands that she's been through a terrible ideal, and gives her time to let go.

THE AUTHOR

This book was written my L.P Dover, a relatively new Author, who mostly writes Paranormal Romance books. She has the ability to make you connect with her characters, feel their pain, and their joy, and for me, that's what every good Author should be able to do. I have another of her books on my Kindle, and I am looking forward to reading it.
