Speed determines how fast a disc flies. Speed 14 discs are the fastest, ideal for upwind throws. Slower discs offer more accuracy and can go farther downwind. High-speed discs aren't suggested for beginners due to their power requirements.

Glide affects a disc's loft during flight. Discs with more glide boost distance, ideal for beginners. Less glide enhances accuracy in wind.

High Speed Turn indicates how much a disc turns right (for RHBH throws) initially and is relative to other discs with the same Speed. Discs with +1 resist turning, while -5 turn easily. Ratings -3 to -5 are great for rollers. Less turn improves wind accuracy, more turn suits beginners.

Low Speed Fade is the disc's left hook at flight's end (for RHBH throws), rated 0 to 5 and is relative to discs with the same Speed. A 0 rating finishes straight, 5 hooks sharply. High fade discs suit Spike, Forehand, and Skip shots.

I'm a beginner, but I've been using an Innova DX Destroyer as my primary driver and love it. However, it's fairly heavy (mine is 172 grams) and requires a pretty strong throw to make it perform well. When thrown correctly (level, with a slight up tilt on forehand flick) it will self stabilize and fly straight for 80 percent of the distance and then fade right (if thrown forehand -- I'm a righty) moderately. I should note that the DX plastic (as opposed to Innova's other plastic blends: Champion, Star, etc.)is fairly soft and will take significant damage if you hit rocks and such. I even impaled mine on a tree branch when trying to get out of the woods with a tomahawk throw (overhead throw with disc on edge)! It will go far and fast with a strong throw; also seems very resistant to crosswinds. I almost always use the forehand flick in actual drives (as opposed to practice) because I have better control/consistency that way. My backhand drive needs a lot of work. Note: I did not buy my Destroyer via Amazon, but it's the same disc as shown here. Good luck!

I recently purchased the Innova - Champion Discs DX Destroyer Golf Disc and while I love the way it performs, I am disappointed in its durability. The disc flew beautifully and had great accuracy, but after only a few rounds of use, it started to show signs of wear and tear.

I had high hopes for this disc, as it is made by a reputable brand known for producing quality discs. However, I found that it became warped and scratched easily, which affected its performance on the course.

While I do appreciate the wide variety of colors that the disc comes in, I ultimately cannot give it a higher rating due to its lack of durability. I would recommend this disc for casual players who aren't too concerned with the longevity of their equipment, but for serious players who need a reliable disc, I would suggest looking for a different option.

Even though I kinda wanted the black and red disc shown, I knew I probably wasnt going to get that one. Mine came blue and silver. Black does have its difficulties such as finding in the brush if you dont drive straight. I am pretty new to disc golf but I played a lot of Ultimate and was a baseball player. I can sidearm this disc about 400 feet on a pea rod with some slight fade to the right (sidearm is opposite fade) at the end of the drive. Its easily my go to distance driver, especially on a wide open fairway. You do need to be able to throw this disc with significant force for it to fly the way you want to. I wouldnt recommend for weaker players but if you can flick with the best of them, definitely add this disc to your bag!

This has become my staple driver. The baseline plastic is a lot more understable than other Destroyers (especially once it's a bit broken in), which makes it a great disc for tailwind drives. Furthermore, as a guy with fairly big hands that throws mostly backhands, I think this is the most comfortable disc mold I've found.
