"An unmissable series!" –Samantha Young, New York Times bestselling author of On Dublin Street

“This is the stuff swoons are made of.” Wendy Higgins, New York Times bestselling author of Sweet Evil

In this special eBook version, experience OBSIDIAN, ONYX, and OPAL as told by Daemon Black…

This book is enhanced with exclusive content—two original songs inspired by the novel—resulting in a large file that may take longer to download than expected.

I knew the moment Katy Swartz moved in next door, there was going to be trouble. Lots of it.

And trouble’s the last thing I need, since I’m not exactly from around here. My people arrived on Earth from Lux, a planet thirteen billion light years away. Plus, if there’s one thing I know, it’s that humans can’t be trusted. We scare them. We can do things they only dream about, and honestly, we make them look weak as hell. ‘Cuz they are.

But Kat is getting to me in ways no one else has, and I can't stop myself from wanting her—or wanting to use my powers to protect her. She makes me weak, and I’m the strongest of our kind, tasked with protecting us all. So this one simple girl…she can mean the end for us. Because the Luxen have an even bigger enemy—the Arum, and I need to stay on my game.

Falling for Katy—a human—won't just place her in danger. It could get us all killed, and that’s one thing I’ll never let happen...

One word - Daemon Black (okay that was two words)

One word - Daemon Black (okay that was two words)
I just read the last page of Oblivion! And it just hit me! This is the end! No more Daemon, no more Kitten, no more milk out of the fridge and choc chip cookies and no more holy alien babies!!! It’s over! Please give me a moment to cry my heart out …*starts to cry uncontrollably* *crawls in a little ball* *slipping into oblivion*5 hours later…I’m still NOT okay! But I feel like I’m not the only one that should be feeling this way right now. That is why I am going to write the best review EVER!!! So all of you would feel compelled to read this book and then feel as miserable as I do right now!!! Wait a second… If you’ve read the other books in the Lux series, you are probably reading Oblivion RIGHT now because if you know who’s Daemon you would have sold your little sister to get your hands on this precious gem left for us by the BEST WRITER IN THE WORLD… No!!! THE KNOWN UNIVERSE!!! (Yes, it had to be in all CAPS because how can you say that without screaming it at the top of your lungs?)So this review is for all the people out there who’s been oblivious (Did you see what I did there?) to the fact that there is a certain lady roaming the streets of West Virginia who gave birth to the sexiest, most arrogant, gorgeous, self-centred, sweetest, horrible but yet oh so dreamy fictional boyfriends of all times and I feel I have to warn you all – Once you go Daemon Black you will NEVER go back! Jennifer ruined us all for the rest of the book boyfriends out there! I’ve read another series while I was waiting for Oblivion to be released and that dude in that book just didn’t do it for me… like at all! I cannot even remember his name. Worse one-book stand EVER!Dear Person who has no idea why alien babies can possibly be holy, I know what you are thinking right now… why would an author spent so much time to re-write not one, not two… but three books from another character’s POV when we already know what happened! No, she did not want to make more money or abuse the fact that some girls will buy absolutely anything with the name Daemon Black attached to it! She did it because she loves her fans just as much as she loves her pooch, Loki and she gave us what we begged her for – more Daemon!! (Personally I think she enjoys spending time with Daemon in her head and that part of me saying that she gave birth to him just made me thing of some twisted sort of Game of Thrones incest type of thing and I really do not want to go there right now!!)I know you are sceptical – I lot of other authors (we will not mention their names) have tried to milk their popular series by just re-writing their bestselling books from another character’s perspective! And what happened was that they only stuck to the scenes they already wrote and just swopped the personal pronouns around and sent it to their publishers! I mean anyone at the publisher’s office who didn’t have something to do on a Friday night could have done that! But not Jennifer L Armentrout! When she re-writes a book she goes above and beyond her own expectations! Not only does she retell the whole story from Daemon’s POV but she also added some bonus scenes for us to gush over! While reading Obsidian, Onyx and Opal there were a few times where I was wondering what the hell was going through Daemon’s mind. Why did he say that or act that way??? And Jenn answered all of those questions. It all made sense then. All the puzzle pieces are fitting into place! Let’s face it – Daemon is a jerk! We all know and accept that! Not once did he make excuses for his actions! He is what he is and we love him for that. He sometimes did feel bad afterwards and tried to fix some of the damage and for that we love him even more. It was a really interesting feeling to be in Daemon’s mind and see him react (like a total guy) to some of the things that Kat did. It sometimes scared me because I am now convinced that Jennifer has an alter ego living inside her… and he’s a dude! How else would she be able to be so spot on with most of the things guy-related??? It’s either that or she finally cracked the code and she’s the only woman that knows why men do the things they do.I loved the scenes where he went all corny and dorky. The people who haven’t read the other books yet can skip this paragraph, not that it contains spoilers but because you will have no idea what I’m talking about!!! For some reason I could not wait for that scene where Daemon hijacked Kat’s vlog. I just had to know what went on in his mind. And he did not disappoint! Another chapter I was dying to read was when they finally did it! Daemon’s thoughts and actions made my heart do all kind of corny things. Like I said there was a lot of scenes were Kat was not present but we finally found out about them while Daemon was living them. Like the boxes – that was EPIC and such a Daemon thing to do! But one scene that had me in tears as when Adam said goodbye to Ash in Onyx! It struck me right in the feels and I had to give myself a few moments to recover. But enough about that! This is a spoiler free review!Jennifer told us to look out for something extra she threw in there for us! I’ve seen a lot of you could not find it or were confused over it! It’s the very last page in the e-book. At the very end! I will not say anything about it! I just need to get this of my chest… I knew it! I KNEW IT! It all makes sense now!Now back to those people who are still wondering if they should read this series… WHY ARE YOU STILL WONDERING ABOUT IT??? JUST READ THE DAMN SERIES ALREADY!!! Trust me on this! You do not know me at all but I promise you, after you’ve read the whole series you will track my down on social networks and you will thank me! I will advise you to read the books in this order – Obsidian, Onyx, Opal, Shadows, (Yes, Shadows is the prequel novella but it’s best to read it here because you will know Dawson better by now and everything will just make more sense) Origin, Opposition and then when you’re craving more Daemon read Oblivion last! That way you can stretch out your love affair with him a little longer. And do not forget about Obsession! It’s about an Arum and a human who fell for each other! It’s a little bit naughty but I totally heart it!!!Now leave me alone so I can mourn the loss of my one true love!!! I promised myself that one day I will re-read the whole series. The first 3 books I will read chapter for chapter along with Oblivion so I can match it from Daemon to Katy. But I will wait a few months before I do that! I want this feeling of utter misery to fester and grow out of control so I can fall into Daemon’s open arms because I know in my heart that he misses me too.(I would like to point out that I do indeed suffer from insanity and that your suspicions are correct – after reading since I was 4 years old I cannot tell fantasy from reality anymore and that I really forget that fictional characters do not exist!)

My fingers are hovering over the keyboard as I struggle how to put into words how I felt about Jennifer L. Armentrout’s Oblivion, and that would be the extended ebook version of Oblivion. Here we not only get Daemon’s point of view for the events of Obsidian, but also Onyx and Opal and just wow. Wow. Holy freaking wow!!

What’s great about reading these books now, is that I already know how the story is supposed to go. There are no curveballs, and yet, I still got the same weepy tears that I did throughout the books when I read them through Katy’s point of view. You pretty much read these books after you’ve already read the series at large. Granted, for me, that was a few years ago and several hundred books ago!

I remember when I first met Daemon in Obsidian, I agreed with Katy. He was a douche. But seriously, reading from his point of view, totally shines bright freaking light onto the situation. And I can’t help but love him a little more. Still want to slap him upside the head a few times, of course, but luckily Katy pretty much does that in her own way!

It’s hard to review a book you’ve read before, even if this is a new take on it. The story stays the same for the most part, but we basically see what Daemon is doing when he wasn’t with Katy and it’s definitely a worthy read! Because seriously who loves the Lux books and not Daemon? He’s an ass at times, but he’s an ass with heart! LOL.

I was surprised by how fast these reads were. Granted, I had to break after Obsidian because I had a review book, but then I dove right back in and here I am totally finished with all three books! It almost makes me want to go back and re-read Origin and Opposition, but sadly, my reading schedule just doesn’t have that kind of time.

Another thing I loved, was experiencing the incredibleness of the series again! I loved falling in love with Daemon again. I loved laughing with Dee and Katy. And omg, the book gushing! I loved Katy being a blogger and I loved how Daemon finds her blog without her knowing and following her. I even loved hating Bran? Billy? (Blake naturally, but I pretty much loved Daemon purposely not getting his name right either!) And basically feeling all those same feelings I had throughout the series all over again. I didn’t quite care for the heartaches, but luckily there were still plenty of pick me up moments with Daemon and then of course, there’s the fact that I already know how the series ends!

But seriously, what else is there to say about how awesome and amazing this book was? It’s just awesome and amazing! I loved being in Daemon’s head! I loved all his attitude moments, his sweeter moments, and the moments where he berates himself for his attitude or sweetness! And who could forget the spaghetti scene?! Still one of my most favorite moments ever!

Oblivion, in both its formats—which again, I HIGHLY suggest getting the ebook for you get MORE of Daemon, and the paperback, because who doesn’t want to stare at that cover all day—is truly the read for the Lux fan. And I know a LOT of Lux fans! I’m sure they’ve all finished with this one, as it seems I am not as fast a reader as I once thought! But I loved enjoying and taking my time for a little one on one with Daemon. Now if only I can find a real life version of him who’s more my age! Haha.

Everything about Oblivion was truly perfect and amazing! And I think Daemon would agree with that because he thinks of himself as perfect and amazing as well! And hell, he pretty much is after that first book! LOL!

There where many times when I wondered what was going on in
Daemon Black's head. I was thrilled to learn that Ms. Armentrout read my mind. It was exciting to read the story again from his POV, getting other parts of the story. I loved being inside of Daemon's head. I definitely enjoyed reading Onyx more from him because Katy irked me in the middle, so it was better not to have to be inside of bed head. I thank the author for this side of the story. It's a perfect counterpart.

Oblivion is a like a gift to every Daemon Black fan out there. I absolutely love the Lux series and Daemon is one of my most favorite characters ever. Oblivion is Daemons POV of Obsidian, Onyx and Opal. He may not have been the nicest guy to start out with (scratch that, he was a horrible jerk), but Daemon is completely unapologetic about who he is. He's cocky, powerful, intelligent and sexy. He's incredibly sarcastic and he's fearless. He's dealt with loss and family is the most important thing to him so he will do absolutely anything for his sister Dee, even if that means telling his new neighbor Katy Swartz to stay away and be mean to her in the process. That's probably the most immediate redeeming quality about Daemon - his protectiveness and his sense of responsibility.

Daemon's POV gives insight to just how hard he fought against getting to know Katy and that despite his resistance, he was the one to make mistakes and to put Katy in danger, not someone else. I also loved his interactions with Dee and Adam and knowing how much he missed Dawson. While Daemon isn't really the sort of guy a person confides to about feelings, he's definitely the first person someone would want on their team when it comes to defending and protecting. Not to mention that Daemon has no patience, so he doesn't tolerate anyone's crap and isn't afraid to let them know. A mad Daemon is a scary Daemon and his enemies have every reason to run in the other direction. He can't be outsmarted either.

But Daemon really matures and develops throughout the series. Aside from the love he has for his close friends and family, he's never been in love and known what it's like to care for someone and want their happiness more than his own. He's always been enclosed in his bubble and not allowing other people in, but Katy still crept under his skin and wouldn't go away. A guy like Daemon thrives on challenge and met his match in Katy because she won't back down or be scared off by his tactics.

Seeing Daemon transform into a guy who loves Katy more than anything or anyone is really inspiring because there's nothing he won't do for her and Daemon is capable of so many things. In order to win her over, he has to learn to be patient, avoid making rash behavior, and put in an effort to earn her trust, all of which doesn't come easy for him. He has no weakness except for her, but she makes him a better person overall. Love, love, love Daemon!

Eu adorei poder ver o outro ponto de vista da história, admito que pra mim o obsidiana na versão dele é o melhor entre os 3, mas vale a pena ler todos. Um ótimo trabalho da autora pra quem gosta de um romance adolescente sobrenatural.
