I love this American Girl series of books. I have bought the Feelings Book, the Care and Keeping of You, and the Just Mom/Dad and Me books. I have found them all to be great "go-to" books when issues crop up. I had her get out this book last night when she was bickering with her brother and assigned them an activity to do together in the book. They were laughing by the end of it and things were smoothed over (for now). Might sound corny, but the same thing works for the Mom and Me and Dad and Me books too. It's not a book that will be read from cover to cover at once, but like I said, will come in handy for times when issues crop up.

I was the oldest in my family, so I feel my 8 year old daughter's pain at being the oldest in a large family! I ordered this book for her because she has struggled a bit lately with how to deal with her younger brothers and I trust the American Girl brand.

I find her reading it and using tips from it often. She sat down and read the entire thing on the first afternoon she received it! I like that the tone of the book is empathetic, but overall positive and encouraging. I think it has helped her grow in a good way in her relationship with her siblings!

I bought this book when my two kids (boy and girl) started fighting for almost everything and it was driving me crazy!, It was a relief to know that I am not alone....I supposed it is 'normal'? for siblings to fight over ridiculous stuff but this book has help my kids to understand that at the end of the day there is no friend that should be more important than their own brother or sister....sometimes Mom can say a lot of things but it is good for them to hear it from another source too :-P

She read it to her 7 year old brother then they both signed it, and now it is posted up on our fridge for all to see. This book didn't magically end all the arguing and fighting, but it's helped my daughter manage her frustrations and sometimes anger she feels from dealing with little brother.

This is a nice book for girls with siblings. I thought it was focused on brothers and sisters but it also covers just sisters or twins. It is a nice book that goes through family issues, like fighting getting blamed for things your sibling does.
It also talks about if your the oldest youngest or middle. The books makes some good points and I think it will help my daughter get along better with her little brother.
