I have a cookbook passed down within the family that my great grandmother bought, then it went to my grandmother, then my mom, and now I have it. My granddaughter wants it but it's been used to the point of falling apart at seams. I wanted a way to preserve it but make sure it is protected. I decided to laminate the pages and put in several binders so my granddaughter can easy find everything. I was worried about the heat on such fragile paper but it pulls it through slowly and gently. The colors and words pop out. I just started on this project and have a long ways to go as this is a very thick book. I'll update when I am completely done with the cookbook to see how the machine holds up. It is amazingly easy to use. It did take me a few tries to get it straight going in but the release button works great if you need to pull it out to straighten it up. The only downside (very minor downside) is the machine puts off a good amount of heat. Even with the ac at 68, I was sweating. I would suggest a fan to cool you off but to also blow the heat away from you. Other than that, lovely machine at a great price.

What I like about this laminator is that it is very slim and lightweight. It takes up very little space so storage is easy. It is also portable.
Prior to getting this laminator, I was using no heat laminator sheets. This is very time consuming and this laminator certainly saves a lot of time for volume projects.
I also bought Oregon laminations premium bookmark lamination pouches. No cutting is necessary and these pouches are another great time saver. I highly recommend these products.

I am using this laminator for my pressed flower art., but now that I have it, I am finding all kinds of photos and documents that I can laminate. Pressed flowers can be very fragile and some flake very easily. I have pressed flower bookmarks and notecards on 140 pound hot press watercolor paper. I was worried that any laminator would crush the flowers and I was also worried that the hot press paper would be too thick. I was also worried that the heat would damage the flowers. No worries! Style: Laminating MachineVerified Purchase
There are many choices for laminating machines, so I ended up trusting the name brand and it didn't disappoint. Same day delivery was swift and timely and I used it right out of the box, well, I did have to run to a store nearby to get some more laminating pouches, since the machine only came with two of them. Anyway, it works like a charm, heated up in less than 4 minutes. The pouches are easily fed through. And then you just let the machine do it's job. I laminated about 100 pages last night and the first page was just as smooth as the last one. It's not a rush job, so don't get tempted to pull the pages out as they travel through the machine. The time it takes for one page to go through is just enough time to get the next page ready to go, especially if you have cats as volunteer "helpers". The machine does get quite hot, but it never overheated during the 100 pages I ran through. The box it came in is sturdy and makes for a nice storage box, just let the machine cool down after use and before storing it. There wasn't much thinking involved while using the machine, so I watched a movie, made the time go by faster. All in all a good purchase at this price point.
