WOW! I loved this book! It hooked me from the prologue. Talk about heart pounding suspense….the book opens with our heroine, Bianca, hiding up in a tree on a beautiful, deserted island wondering if the man looking for her is her savior or killer! The excitement never let up from there.
Bianca is trying to solve the mystery of her mother’ death. Her father left her papers after his death implicating a powerful company in her mother’s death and of stealing his patents he developed for the company. As she gets closer to finding answers, she is kidnapped along with a man, Jakob, she met briefly in a café days earlier. Then, the two are left on an island. They have no idea what their connection is to each other or to the powerful Bradley family. As each of them try to find that connection, their distrust of each other grows but not their lust for one another.

I loved just about everything about this book. Bianca and Jakob were such dynamic, multi-layered characters. I loved the way Cooper pulled back each layer slowly to reveal something new about each of them. I am still not sure what their real motives are, especially Jakob. All I am sure of with Jakob is his insane sex appeal. He is one sexy, dominant, dirty talking man! Let me just say, I am jealous of Bianca. I couldn’t pick another man I would rather be marooned with!

Cooper also did a bang up job of describing the location. She engaged almost all of my senses. I could feel the sand and sun on my skin, smell the salt in the air, see the beautiful blue expanse of the ocean, and hear the lapping of the waves. I felt like I was there with them. Although if I was, I may have to take Bianca out so that I could have Jakob all to myself.

I have never read anything by J.S. Cooper, but I am a fan now! It seems like there is so much romance out there for a reader to choose from, and some of them follow the same pattern, but not this one. It’s refreshingly different! The story and characters are written in a way that you will remember, and the twists and turns make Illusion stand out from other romances. It does end in a cliffhanger, but it just makes me more anxious for Disillusioned. I can’t wait to see where Cooper takes me in the next book!

I. LOVED. THIS. BOOK!!! Romance laced with mystery and suspense. I think ILLUSION just became my MOST FAVORITE book by J.S. Cooper!

After her father passed away, Bianca dedicated her time to uncovering the truth about her mother's death. However, she was investigating the wrong people. She wakes up in the back trunk of a car with a strange man, Jakob. Then a few hours later, they are dumped and left stranded on a deserted island. Who could have done this? And who is this gorgeous guy? Is he a friend or a foe? Jakob wants to figure out why have they been kidnapped and how were they going to escape. But to do this, they must work together. How are they connected? Can they trust each other? As secrets are reveal, everything they thought they knew about each other is put into question.

I loved the characters in this book. Bianca was strong woman who only became stronger as the book progressed. She definitely used her mind and didn't let her body dictate all of her decision making. There was a raw sexual chemistry between her and Jakob. And the chemistry grew more intense as they spent more time together, but Bianca was still skeptical and didn't trust him completely. Smart girl! Jakob was a sexy, arrogant billionaire. I was instantly attracted to him. He immediately took control of the situation and was very protective of Bianca, always making sure she was okay and never pushing her to do something she wasn't comfortable with. He was so irresistible! I was unsure of Jakob in the beginning. Did he have a motive or was he simply in the wrong place at the wrong time and gotten kidnapped? I had my theory and didn't completely trust him until the last 30% of the book. But his secret shocked me! It was one of those 'Wooh...no way!' moments, but my original suspicion was correct.

The plot was absolutely amazing! It was full of secrets, lies, and deceptions. I kept guessing and re-guessing where the story was headed and how it was going to end. There were so many twists and turns. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time wanting to see what's going to happen next. I followed the clues and was ultimately lead to a jaw dropping ending! I can't wait for DISILLUSIONED to see how Jakob and Bianca's story will continue.

Oh my gosh! What a thrilling book!

I read Illusion after reviewing Masquerade for NetGalley (Warning! Read Illusion before Masquerade!), so I actually knew the background of the plot going in. However, it didn't stop me enjoying it, and I must read the next book soon.

Bianca is taking a break from college and making money as a freelance film critic, after finding some secret papers belonging to her late inventor father. She is investigating Bradley Inc to find out the truth behind her father’s letter to her and also her mother’s death, which occurred many years earlier.

She'd been getting anonymous letters and felt like she was being watched, until one day, she is kidnapped. During the kidnapping, she realises that someone else has been kidnapped, as well.

It turns out to be a random guy she met in a coffee shop – Jakob.

They find themselves dumped on a desert island, finding ways to try and survive, and provide for their basic needs.

Jakob is gorgeous and somewhat mysterious, and blows hot and cold. She feels an irresistible pull to him, even though her instincts warn her not to trust him. He flirts outrageously with her and is very obviously attracted to her. They try and work out what their connection is, and the reasons behind their kidnapping, by telling each other about themselves. However, Bianca is convinced that Jakob is holding information back, just as she is.

The discovery of another mysterious stranger, Steve, on the island, adds an extra dimension to the plot, and raises more questions and doubts for Bianca as to which man she should trust. As the story unfolds, she is constantly questioning herself and the things that Jakob and Steve tell her.

The denouement at the end is heart-stopping and leaves the reader more than ready for the next book. The whole story is told from Bianca’s POV.

This is a must read.It has so much packed into the pages. I doubt anything is missing.

I have read a few other JS Cooper books and this, this is in a league of its own.

What would you do if you found yourself on an island with a sexy man? Could you trust him? or yourself to make the right decisions? would you trust your gut? Would his looks and charm distract you?

Bianca has to ask herself those questions, and more, about Jakob. And then Steve. Which one is telling the truth? can either be trusted?

Bianca was kidnapped and left on a deserted island with a man, Jakob. Who says he's been kidnapped too.

I was so excited about this book. And i was not disappointed. Not one bit. Yes I did guess that Jakob may not be who he says he is. Bianca, she maybe hiding things too. She is much stronger than she thinks she is. I hope and pray she finds her answers.

I don't want to say too much as i don't want to give away any spoilers.

A mystery to be solved, a man to fall in love with. A tropical island to do it on? You would think in a setting like this, it would be easy, right? Wrong. Bianca and Jakob have been kidnapped and thrown together on this island. Right from the beginning Bianca has to fight her feelings for Jakob. She knows he's hiding something but what?
From finding food and clean water to survive, to notes left in the jungle this is a rollercoaster of a story that sends the reader in all directions. Who is the mysterious Steve and where did he come from? Who left them all on the island.
Slowly Bianca's resolve is weakened and she falls for Jakob even though she has lingering doubts. He's a hard man to resist.
This is a cliffhanger and leaves us with a million questions to be answered. Fantastic book left me wanting more.
