Blindsided: Game On in Seattle (Seattle Steelheads Book 7) Kindle Edition

4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 1,664 ratings

The daughter of one-time rock legends, Emma Maxwell is the good girl of the family, the dutiful sister, the doting aunt, and a dedicated employee in the family party-crashing business. Every Wednesday night at Karaoke, she indulges in her secret fantasy of being a singer. Yet the thrill of being on stage doesn't rival the thrill of a spontaneous liaison with the delectable, yet downtrodden, quarterback of the Seattle Steelheads, Tanner Wolfe, Emma’s long-time crush.

Tanner didn't see it coming--not any of it. He was blindsided--by his dysfunctional family, his plummeting career, and the one thing he least expected--by love. After photos with Emma go viral, Tanner is caught in a lie and tells a bigger one to get out of it. Now he’s shoulder-pads deep in a temporary marriage while struggling to resurrect his disastrous career and reunite his broken family. As time passes, Tanner begins to wonder if temporary is good enough, but he’s made a promise to Emma, one which has nothing to do with marriage vows and everything to do with her Nashville singing career and the end of their relationship.

Will Tanner and Emma take the ball and drive for the win, or will they be permanently relegated to the sidelines as the clock runs out on their temporary marriage?

USA Today bestselling author Jami Davenport writes sexy contemporary, new adult, and sports romances, including Gone Missing, Seattle Sockeyes, The Scoring Series, and the Portland Icehawks. Jami's new releases consistently rank in the top fifty on the sports romance and sports genre lists on Amazon, and she has hit the Amazon top hundred authors list in both contemporary romance and genre fiction multiple times.

Jami lives on a small farm near Puget Sound with her Army Ranger-turned-plumber husband, a Newfoundland drool monster, and two demanding tabby cats.

Jami worked in IT for years and is also a former high school business teacher but recently achieved a life-long dream of being a full-time author. A horse lover since birth, Jami showed dressage horses for over thirty years. Now she gardens and goes glamping, along with other travelling adventures. She's a lifetime Seahawks and Mariners fan, a proud season ticket holder for the Seattle Kraken, and still misses her SuperSonics. An avid boater, Jami has spent countless hours in the San Juan Islands, a common setting in her books. In her opinion, it's the most beautiful place on earth.

What a great story this was! I so enjoyed Emma and Tanner's love story.

Tanner Wolfe has been in the NFL for a couple of years and he has yet to make the impact everyone expected. Instead, he's getting more press of his off-field antics and the new management of the Steelheads has had enough, issuing him an edict of clean up your act or you may find yourself on the outside looking in.

Emma Maxwell has always been the "good" sister. She's never gone against anything her older sisters have wanted for her, but what they don't know is she has a secret - one she's been indulging in for several months in secret. She doesn't want her sisters to find out of her dream to be a recording artist because of a pact they made as children.

Emma and Tanner's path's cross and it becomes apparent very quickly they can help one another with their current situations. With that in mind, Tanner proposes that the two marry to help him look more settled and he can use his connections to help Emma break into the music industry. Once their situations are under control, they'll go their own ways. But will it be that easy?

With Emma having been in love with Tanner for years, this marriage is as real to her as anything and for Tanner, he's fighting to keep his emotions out of it and to keep his dysfunctional childhood a secret. Can these two get out of their own way and make their marriage real?

This was such a great book and I loved both Emma and Tanner. These two were a great match for each other and Jami Davenport did an phenomenal job telling their wonderful story. I'd recommend any of the Game On In Seattle books!

Blindsided: Seattle Steelheads Football by Jami Davenport is an entertaining read. Ms Davenport has delivered a well written book. Tanner and Emma's story is a marriage of convenience tale. The characters are well developed and totally awesome. Ms Davenport has sprinkled bits of drama, humor and sizzlin' hot sexy bits through this fun to read book. I enjoyed this book from cover to cover and look forward to reading more from Jami Davenport in the future. Blindsided is book 6 in the Game On In Seattle Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

In Blindsided, the sixth book in the Game On In Seattle series, we finally get to see the full character development of Tanner Wolfe and Emma Maxwell; both of whom were introduced in previous books of the series.

Tanner Wolfe is the gorgeous, hunky, playboy quarterback for the Seattle Steelheads. He’s a master at acting and portraying what he wants others to see. He is also self-indulgent and has built massive walls around his heart and soul that he has spent a lifetime protecting.

Emma Maxwell is beautiful, quiet, shy, and the compliant sibling to three sisters. Emma has invariably done exactly what was expected within her family. Yet, she has two primary secrets: a long-time crush on Tanner Wolfe that started long before they met and a musical dream, which would ultimately defy her eldest sibling.

As Tanner’s career begins to unravel, Tanner and Emma’s paths cross again. Tanner pounces on an opportunity that will allow them to use each other to ultimately achieve their lifelong dreams. Davenport weaves a beautiful yet tumultuous story where Tanner’s fortress comes crumbling down at the hands of Emma’s quiet acceptance. The journey takes us through the challenges between false appearances and the truth; and all the decisions in between.

This was my favorite book of the series to date. I loved the characters, story line, and supporting cast of characters. It was captivating, plausible, and entertaining as a tale of heartbreak, forgiveness, healing and love

We met Emma in earlier books about her sisters, including her identical twin Avery. Emma has always had a crush on Tanner, even when he was sleeping with her sister Bella. It didn't stop her from developing feelings. And when Tanner is told to clean up his image, he comes up with a plan that involves Emma - they have to get married and make it through the season together and he will help her get what she wants - a chance to sing professionally.

Neither expected him to fall for her.

This is a well written story that's somewhat predictable but has a flare all it's own. I highly recommend this entire series.

There are so many points in this book where it seems like the author forgot she already wrote about somethimg. Like when Tanner goes to her apartment after saying they were engaged, and the cat being kicked out of her lap. Then the cat is at their new house and runs past Tanner, who says he had no idea she had a cat, and he doesn't do cats. There were many more instances where it seemed like they had already discussed things, then we're supposed to be discussing them for the first time, but that was the most obvious instance. I think the book could be really good if it weren't for these things detracting from it. Unfortunately, I probably won't finish it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Quite enjoyable book

Sweet fairytale-like story about following your dreams, dealing with your past, and especially recognising which dreams are the important ones.
Tanner and Emma are quite likeable characters, and although the story sometimes seems unlikely, they do come over as genuine and realistic. It was heartwarming to see the changes in their behaviour, not only to each other, but to themselves as well.
This is the 4th book in the series, and the first one I have read, but anything happening before was either nicely explained, or didn't have enough impact on this story to prevent a reader from understanding this story.
All in all, a quite enjoyable book, and I would not mind to get my hands on the previous three books, or any subsequent ones.

Another awesome book in the Steelhead Series!
Tanner has been a bad boy Quarterback for awhile...until he finally really sees Emma.
The first time Emma sees Tanner back in college she has a super crush on him! Later in life they meet again but due to her past experiences she won't let him get in her pants. Emma has decided that No ring = No sex!
Tanner has been told to change his wild ways or possibly loose his spot on the team!
Can these two work things out? What will happen?

A great romance story which had me laughing one minute and crying the next with the way the Wolfe boys, especially Tanner was cruelly treated by his dry drunken abusive father. How the love blossomed between Emma and Tanned and how she showed him bow to release his anger and to be a better person, whilst forgiving his brothers by learning to trust and love and be love. Great read

It was cute and fun to read. Chapter 20 made my eyes teary 😋 though I didn't like the last few chapters where they were playing the "I don't want to tell you I love you because I don't want you to despise me" game.
