I was put on to this product from friends on another site. It worked great. The lock reset was smooth. Using it was very easy. I like the idea that I can lock extra cash or valuables in something the service staff would not have access for. It worked great around the pool. It held a camera, sunglasses, IPOD touch, speaker set, wallet, cash and phone. Plus there was a bit of extra room. I also liked having something solid in my luggage that would hold some potential breakables. I was really impressed with this item.
My fault, but I thought this was smaller, so the original reason I bought this didn't work out. I decided it took up too much valuable suitcase real estate so it stayed home. I'm keeping I though as there might be other times this kind of thing would be very handy.
Items arrived as expected and were slightly larger than anticipated. Lock code was easy to set. We will be taking these on vacation to the beach next week. Hopefully, they do the task and keep our items safe.
The premise of the vacation vault is really great. Unfortunately, the design is garbage.
I have reset the combination for this vault 5 times (in a period of about 2 days) because every time when I lock it and move the number dial, it resets the combination to something random. I then have to start at 000 and work my way up until I find the combination that will free my things inside. On top of the combination frustration, the cord is really annoying and gets lodged inside the lid to where I either need pliers to free it, or I can't close the vault lid.
Technically, I guess the vault is usable in this condition, but it's really not worth the annoyance. It takes me 15 minutes to get anything out of it...if I can get it closed in the first place.
Love it. Big enough for 2 cell phones, a small wallet and sunglasses. Your belongings will be safe. We hung it from the pool chair as we were eating breakfast, so it saved our spot as well! :)Highly recommend!
