Allows the Amazon Echo, "Alexa," to hear you from any room in the home.

Allows the Amazon Echo, "Alexa," to hear you from any room in the home.
Allows you to use the Amazon Echo from other rooms in your house in order for "Alexa" to hear you or play music. Uses two AAA batteries included by Amazon with the purchase. Frustrated me at first, but then I realized (after reading the directions) that you needed to pair it with the Echo using the Echo App. There is a magnetic connector included with a reusable adhesive strip that serves as a place to put your remote so you can find it easier. Very simple to use buttons; it looks like an iPod with an extra microphone button to me. Alexa can now hear you in a very noisy room using this remote, not that she couldn't do that if you were up close, but from any distance and with considerable noise interference.

I love the Echo and the Voice remote. The Echo microphones can hear me most of the time, when it does it is spot on. Other times I have to use the voice remote, which I had to purchase separately. I originally had Echo placed under a television which has down facing speakers. When the TV was on even at low volume, it interfered with the Echo microphones picking up my voice. All I had to do was slide it forward and to the side a bit.

Now, the only trouble I have is when I am in another room or if the TV volume is up too loud. In those situations, I use this remote. It allows you to do everything that Echo can do on its own just in noisy situations or times when your voice will not travel far enough.

I am glad I picked up the Echo remote. It comes in handy.

The remote works great with the amazon Echo!

The main reason I purchased this was to use the "simon says" feature. All you need to do is hold down the microphone button and say" Simon says" and then it will repeat whatever you say after.

My kids think it is talking to them and it gives them tons of fun and even encourages them to be nice to one another and clean their room! ;)

The remote is very convenient for using to easily turn down volume if you are a distance away and it cannot hear you say "Alexa"

I love the Echo and I really enjoy having the remote option.

I love having a remote. I have Alexa in the living room and often think of items for my shopping list while I am in the kitchen. I got the remote, wrapped it and the magnetic holder each lightly in plastic wrap, and attached them to the side of the fridge. Now I can push the button and speak normally to add things to my shopping list, start a timer, or just have Alexa play music in the background, instead of hollering from thirty feet away. She understands me better, too. I don't trust the family members to use the remote only with clean dry hands, and the plastic wrap has not interfered with its use or magnetic holding power.

Set up is very easy. If you say to Alexa, "pair remote" she will talk you through how to do it.

You can pair the remote with only one device at a time, even if you own two (or more) Echos, and each Echo can be paired with only one remote at a time. The remote works with Echo and Echo Dot, but not Echo Tap. My thought is that it would be nice if the remote worked with the Echo Tap as well, since it would be great to be able to talk to the Tap from across the room. No dice.

Got this for my g/f so we can access her Echo from the bed (turn on coffee). Works very well for what it is, looks well made, easy setup, strong magnetic holder (with batteries installed). The only issue is that you may not be in a place where you can hear Alexa's response so you are not sure of the task was done. A speaker to hear a reply would be awesome, or just a green/red light to indicate yes a command was understood/no recognisable command or unit offline, something like the green or red light would be on for the duration of the reply would be confirmation and also give a indication of the length of the reply.

But with that one said I have to say it has not failed us, it seems to very much understand what we say and since we can hold it up to our mouth it is not needed to talk loud as sometimes needed to reach the Echo.

The other option we use (at my place) is a Echo/Echo Dot set up (Living room/Bedroom) which allows the same thing as above, cost more, but gives additional options such as using the dot as a clock and alarm and bluetooth connection to the bathroom. Both are good setup's depending on what you are looking for.

I love this remote so much I wanted two of them. While the Echo device (Alexa) listens very well through its seven microphones, imagine what is more common-place these days in homes, a great room. Then imagine a houseful of company, grandkids, dogs, a TV blaring. So there's no question a hand held remote is useful. I'm just going to suggest two of them in a great room is even better. PROBLEM. I was unable to find out if that was possible without buying it and trying, but presently the Echo can only let one remote link to it at a time. As a result I was told the design committee has been appraised of this suggestion and so it's on the Wish List, BUT PLEASE DONT DO AS I DID because you NOW know two remotes WON'T work with one Echo.

These extra remotes come packaged just like the original did with the Echo (which includes the batteries and the magnet). Right now your only justification to buy one of these remotes is that yours quit working outside of warranty, or your dog ate it.

I endeavored to find this out first and all I received was well-meaning guesses. I'm going to hazard a guess that Echo is using Bluetooth like my cell phone uses it and it can only register one device at a time, so it's probably a Bluetooth limitation.

Waited a long time for the Echo remote but so worth it. I had to place my Echo near the TV and used to have to go and mute the TV to give a command to Alexa. I keep the remote in the kitchen (I use it a lot when cooking) and works perfectly. Alexa can even hear when I use the remote from the hallway to the bedroom. Setup was so quick and easy. Instructions were perfect and had the remote operational in less than a minute. The remote is a great addition to the Echo!
