Customers are dissatisfied with the durability of the paint brush. They mention that the foam comes apart after a few minutes of use, the glued edges became separated, and the plastic insert easily snaps off. The foam does not readily release the polyurethane, and it seems to shred a little but easier than big box foam brushes.
"...back & forth brush stroke for more than a few passes before the head pops off and goes tumbling (with paint!) onto the floor...." Read more

The Loew Cornell brushes are far higher quality. In particular, they shed less foam and the handles hold on better. Not to say that I have not had problems. Typically a few in each package have the handles falling off. I'm not sure if this is because the holes in the handles are too large, if they did not use glue where they should have.
That said, even with a success rate of 17/20, I found them to be better quality than similar looking products at Home Depot, Lowes, or the Woodstock ones offered on Amazon.
foam brushes used to be the laughing stock of painting and staining, but in more recent times, they have gone up a million steps in usefulness. once, painters never used these foam brushes siting bad quality and not leaving a fine imprint like camel hair brushes. but for all of those comments, each type of brush has its own usefulness and character. we needed an applicator for a teak oil staining application. first we tried the "hair" brushes, but it left too many bubbles on the surface. it also left stray hairs from the brush when applying the oil. now, the foam brush soaks up just the right amount of teak oil and applies it to the surface without too many bubbles. the slower you work, the less bubbles it creates. what is left on the surface gets soaked up by the teak wood. so, a relatively bubble free recoated surface. it applies the oil to the wood evenly and most of the time, does not run on vertical surfaces. do we need 20 brushes? not really, but every 4-6 months, a new brush is needed for putting on another touch up coat of oil on the surfaces. if the foam brush dries to some level of hardness, get out the next brush and move to the next wood project. this is a great product and will last for quite some time
BUT--- Although advertised as 2 inches wide -- and even individually marked as 2 inch brushes, they are really only 1 & 3/4 inches wide. I would have given 4 or even 5 stars, but this is such a simple thing to get right that I feel it is deceptive (especially as each brush handle says "2 inches"). Maybe the manufacturer was using a defective ruler, but the real reason is likely not so much of a joke.
I'll buy again and I will recommend them, but know you are getting less than 2 inch wide -- if that is really critical (and for my use it wasn't).
You will become frustrated and angry at the low quality of these brushes. Save yourself some grief and don't purchase.
