    Received this today, only 4 days after ordering. I am absolutely thrilled. Someone had reviewed that the wooden people that came with this set were splintery and did not have good painted faces. Absolutely untrue. They are adorable. The people are very easy to sit on the horses and they bend to sit on the thrones. With the free furniture and free people (the same peoople that usually cost between $15 and 20) this was a great buy. The handle looks like an arch when closed. It has a solid door you open to take your prisoners and a working drawbridge. Has great portability for my grandson to take to the campground and to his grandmas.     This castle is very sturdy and nice and compact. That being said however, it is a little difficult to decorate because the "rooms" are so very tiny. So any furniture or people you buy for it must be pretty small. The bed and thrones that come with it are way to big and not made to the scale they should be, but my girls love playing with it anyway. The people and horses are not so great in that they look almost homemade, so I'm always looking for other little characters to go with it. I painted the handle so that it would stay nice from grubby hands and also painted most all the rooms and staircases to give it some character and color. Then I bought some scrapbook stickers to add decor to the walls and some miniature animals too. Even little costume jewelry charms and lockets can be hot glued to the walls as "armor & shields" like a real castle.

The size is perfect -- we have a small home and the fact that this folds up for storage (with all the pieces inside) has been really important. My son plays with this on the floor as well as on a table top.     I keep buying this little castle as a gift again and again when it goes on sale because our own boys STILL play with it, even at 7 and 8 years old. One of our boys got it at age 3 or 4, and it still gets regular play. The quality is great - I love that you can throw the dolls inside, fold it up, and carry it to another room. Our boys will often sneak it up to their bedrooms to play with it. It's also hard to find a dollhouse type toy that isn't huge or covered in pink, so this was a great find.
