Another great book in this series. Loved getting to see Nico and Elle again also. That was an added bonus.
Vinny is truly an amazing character. He's so hot and yet such a sweetheart. The way he cares for and is protective of Liv makes him that much more lovable. He's been through a lot with his drugged up mom all his life. The only thing he had going for him was his fighting success and his belief in his military father who died while overseas.
Seven years ago while still in high school, Liv was his tutor. They were very close and although he suspected Liv loved him, he left because he didn't think he was good enough for her. He never forgot her.
Liv is one of two final interns for a position at the newspaper she's dreamed all her life of working at. When she goes to in terview the MMA fighter that everyone's talking about, she can't believe her eyes when she sees its Vinny. He broke her heart and she has never gotten over him. But she knows being around him will eventually hurt her, so she tries to stay away. Only Vinny wants her back...and he wants her in his bed and in his life...and Vinny doesn't give up.
Eventually caving in to Vinny's persistence, Liv is surprised when she is promised the dream job, but to get it, she has to do a story that will break the heart of the man she loves. Can she give up her lifetime career opportunity for love? But she's not the only one with a secret. Vinny's mom's in trouble again, and this time it might cost his career to save her. Will VInny sacrifice his career for his mom?
I loved Vinny! Liv was okay. I didn't love her -- actually I kinda didn't like her. She kept a big secret from VInny and I thought she should have handled it differently. But me not liking her, didn't mean I didn't love the story because I did. It was great. She's like any bad character in a book. A lot of great books have characters we don't love, but tolerate. And she made Vinny happy, so that's what matters. They really were sweet together and had great chemistry. This book was told from both their POVs and read really smoothly. I've liked all of the books I've read by this author.
Looking forward to reading the next story about Jax and Lily. I think we're going to love Jax as much as Nico and Vinny. What little we get to see shows he's a guy who wont back down and likes a little trouble.

REVIEW FOUND ON MY BLOGI love second chance at love stories. Worth the Chance is the second book in the MMA Fighter series by Vi Keeland. However, you can read it as a standalone novel as well like I did. Before reading the book, I had no idea this was a series let alone the second book. Therefore, I have not read the first one yet but now I plan to. Each book in the series follows a different love story.This one follows Liv and Vince. The first book follows Vince's mentor. Years ago, Liv and Vince had feelings for each other in high school but they never got to try at a chance of love. Years later, Liv is scheduled to write an article on the boxer Vince himself and gets to see him again. When they run into each other again a hot fling ensues. However, Liv is afraid of Vince and his bad-boy reputation.I love that these high school sweethearts were able to find each other again. Vi Keeland is easily hands down one of my favorite authors and storytellers. She knows how to write an amazing love story. The love between the two characters was just the right amount of hot and steamy that any girl would like to read.Vince is a swoon-worthy book boyfriend. He is described as being tall with blue eyes that could make any girl melt. Some of his lines were so cute that I could not stop smiling. He knew what he wanted and he went after it. I loved the relationship that he had with his mom despite her being an addict. Worth the Chance had heart.I had never read a book about a boxer before and it made for a very interesting read. Normally, I do not like books that have sports in them but this was done very subtle. Where I still enjoyed the plot. It was mostly a character-driven story so that's probably why I enjoyed it. The fighting parts did kind of go over my head though. Which is why I ended up only giving the book four stars. Do not be fooled though because Worth the Chance is a fast-paced story that will keep you on your toes.If you love romance novels that are super-steamy than please give this one a try! Both Vince and Liv grow up a lot in the progression of the book. I loved how much I could relate to Liv and her love of writing and journalism. The fact that the novel goes back and forth between perspectives makes for a very interesting and entertaining story. Thank you, Vi Keeland for outdoing yourself once again. You have created a major fan.
