Emotional yet romantically satisfying read set in the music industry
This is the first book I’ve read by Claire Contreras and I have to say that I really enjoyed the story and her writing. It was fun to read about a music heiress who is also a talent scout for musicians that falls for a music producer. I love reading books with characters that have fun careers. You always get your cowboy, billionaire CEO, MMA fighter, and cop, but you don’t often get a music producer. And let me tell you, Nick is the sexiest and sweetest music producer ever. He is the ultimate book boyfriend. I may have to refer to him as a unicorn because there is no way there is a guy this sweet and perfect that exists in this world. In this story, we get to watch the life of Brooklyn, a girl who grew up with everything she wanted except for the love and support of her family. After dabbling in drugs and losing her best friend, it takes her years to recover and begin to live a healthy and satisfying life. When she runs into Nick for the first time, the sparks start flying! The magnetism between those two is what every person hopes for but is doubtful of its existence. If you are looking for an emotional yet romantically satisfying read set in the music industry, look no further! Catch Me will grab a hold of you and not let you go until the last page. You’ll cry, hold your breath, shake your head, smile, and finally breathe a sigh of relief and happiness as you get a satisfying HEA at the end.

~ I can’t help but wonder: if your heart is in LA, how could your home be in Manhattan? And where is min? I seem to have misplaced my heart so long ago and I don’t know where to even begin looking for it. ~

Let me start out by saying that I don’t think it’s possible for Claire Contreras to write something I WON’T read. She has an amazing ability to literally pull you in from page one. You are instantaneously engrossed in the characters and find it impossible to believe you haven’t know them your entire life. This continues page to page until the very last work is read, and you are left bereft, wondering how you will continue on with your life without these characters being in it. But then you realize something: they’ve been there all along and never really left. Characters this well written truly never leave you.

~ I don’t know what it is about him that makes me want to grab his face in place so that he’ll never look at anything but me. I’m not sure what bothers me more: the realization or the fact that I can’t remember feeling this way about anybody before him. ~

Catch Me is the journey of Brooklyn Harmon. We begin the story with a bang that leaves us questioning everything and everyone. You are given bits and pieces along the way, but until you learn the absolute truth, you truly never know the levels of betrayal and despair that Brooklyn feels and goes through. This girl purely and uninhabitably broke my heart. It is rare for a character to affect me the way she did, but it was there nonetheless. I could not believe the people in her life and how horrible they were, yet she seemed to not be too jaded about it all. I wanted to fight FOR her, hell, I wanted someone to fight FOR her!

~ My breaths are coming in short spurts; that’s the kind of need I feel for him. I need him to kiss me. I need it so much more than the damn oxygen I’m lacking in my lungs right now. I need it more than I need this plane to land. That’s how his warm touch on m face makes me feel. I feel like I’ll die if he doesn’t kiss me, but at the same time my heart might explode if he does. ~

Enter Nick Wilde. Whew……what a scorcher of a man! The chemistry between these two was instant, but not in a insta-love kind of way. Purely two souls seeing each other for the first time and reveling in the knowledge that they truly belonged. I LOVED their interactions and they way that they tested each other. Their humor and wit, their sexual energy (of which there is plenty), and their inane ability to just let each other BE. The knowledge that they were perfect just the way they were, and didn’t have to change for anyone. The confidence Nick instilled within her made me love him all the more.
That’s how this kiss makes me feel. Like I’m freefalling, like I’m dying, like I’m breathing for the first time. Like I’m high on ecstasy and a million expert hands are massaging me. This kiss is my life.

Forewarned reader, you will not come out of this experience unscathed. There are some real emotions and situations in this book, that aren’t too often talked about. Claire has a way of making it relatable, of making is understandable. Most definitely a 5 star read for me!!

~ “You weren’t meant to be more to me,: I say, my voice wavering. “But that doesn’t mean you haven’t been enough.” ~

Appearances can be very deceiving. If we took them at face value, it would seem Brooklyn has a perfect life. A glamorous life as the daughter of a former model and music mogel. Money and freedom to buy and do whatever she wants. Brooklyn, at the young age of only 16, was basically living the life of a rockstar. Parties, drugs, alcohol. She had the world at her fingertips.

Or so it seems....

But if you look deeper, you will see the sadness that surrounds her. The hell she has living but buried under all the shiny wrappings of her privileged life. Only those closest to her know how her father is too busy to notice her and her mother tears her down every chance she gets. And when tragedy strikes Brooklyn's life, she spirals even further out of control into an abyss of darkness.

My heart broke for Brooklyn so many times throughout this book. It was very clear from the beginning, all she wanted was the love of her parents. It is the main root of so many of her issues. Her mother especially was disgusting. The way she treated Brooklyn and things she encouraged her to do for the sake of appearances, was just cringe worthy. A parents love, ESPECIALLY. A mother's, should be unconditional

But then she meets someone when she least expects it. And he is not only supportive but also is genuinely interested in her. Their growing relationship was both sweet and hot! It was definitely just what Brooklyn needed to face the past and be able to final move on to a happier place. But just when things are looking up for Brooklyn in all aspects of her life, things come crashing back down.

Can she pull herself up and dust off things this time or will she slip back into her old ways? Well, you are going to have read Catch Me to find out. This is a book that will take you on a roller coaster of emotional ups and downs. But every moment is worth it to get to the end. And best of all.....this book is a stand alone, which means NO cliffhanger!!

First of all I would like to start off by saying Clare is beyond being a good author, her story telling will leave you going through so many emotions like if you are a part of the story yourself. You find yourself getting so engrossed into the story you feel as though you know the characters.

Her first two books I read were two of the best I have ever had the pleasure of reading, so when I knew she was publishing another book I was beside myself.

The main character Brooklyn has been through so much in her first twenty five years, so much loss. Being a daughter of music icon and model she has a lot of pressure and has made a lot of mistakes. Then she meets Nick who is notorious for being a love em and leave em kind of guy.
I liked them both right from the beginning and was rooting for them, but I also liked Brooklyn's best friend Shea as well. Nick was just what she needed..he saved her throughout the book from others and herself, loved him and his family.

I couldn't put down this book like Clare's other two books..her writing style is something I can't describe but if you have read her books you know what I mean....makes other books feel dull.

Highly recommend this book to everybody.

This story kept me hooked from beginning to end.

Although, I must admit, that even as Brooklyn says, she wouldn't cry in front of others, she does it a lot. And that even increased during the book. Still, it didn't really annoy me. And Nick was absolutely wonderful. Their story tugged at my heartstrings.

Sadly, the end seemed a bit rushed and constructed, especially with Shea. The epilogue was too short but lovely and from Nick's POV, which I loved. Nick and Brooklyn were awesome together and hot and so wonderful and heart wrenching in love. Their pull to each other was truly palpable. Therefore, I would have loved this book even more, if the story contained a little bit more of their future together, just an outlook or even a hint at what they'll have.

Claire Contreras' writing was great – as usual. And this book was absolutely worth the read!

I love how this book goes more into talkin about depression rather than the normal I'm depressed so don't get out of bed for a week which is what you get in most books. I love how the ups and downs and sometimes feeling nothing at all and how it comes in bursts not there all the time. It's so true... I like how it talks about the bad side of drug rather than the oh yea were going out and doing a line and it's just a weekend best buzz ever type weekend as a lot know it just doesn't happen like that it consumes you and breaks you.. but most off all I love the story... thank you it saw me through another day which is why I read a book a day except this was in the top league right up there with Paige....x

There is so much I loved about Catch Me. The music! Music and Music! The song choices - ahhhh so divine. The rich characters and fated lovers. Fave scene is Sean performing Connect by Drake - that scene has stuck and glued itself to me and I still think of it often. Officially in love with that song ... You gotta read to find out! That scene and a plethora of others are worth the read - easily!
