4.8 4.8 out of 5 stars 35 ratings

While shooting pictures of a mama bear and her cubs in Rocky Mountain National Park, wildlife photographer Beth Drummond witnesses a murderous shootout and the violent deaths of four men. When those responsible realize they’ve not only been seen but also photographed they give chase, determined to tie up loose ends. Praying she can outdistance her pursuers Beth dashes headlong through the woods, intent on nothing but reaching safety.

When Special Agent Bear Bristol, on leave from the FBI, hears gunshots and sees the woman running for her life, he knows he must intervene. He recognizes those who are chasing her and realizes that things are much worse than they seem. A vicious cartel with a mole at the FBI has put a target on Beth’s back, and there is no one they can trust. Unable to call for backup, Bear must keep Beth safe until they can figure out who the inside man is.

As they struggle to stay one step ahead of both corrupt law enforcement and the killers they learn to trust one another, and realize there is more between them than just friendship born of necessity. Can they overcome the obstacles they face, or will they win the fight to live only to lose the battle to love?

Leslie McKelvey has been writing since she learned to write. Finally, at the ripe old age of...forty-something...her debut novel, Accidental Affair made it into print through Black Velvet Seductions Publishing. Right Place, Right Time is her second novel, and Her Sister's Keeper closes out the 3-book "Accidental Encounters" series. Runaway Heart is her most recent release and a full-length, standalone novel. Her fifth book, Final Kill, hit shelves in December, 2016.

Leslie is a veteran of the Gulf War who served with the U.S. Navy, and she was among the first groups of women to work the flight deck of an aircraft carrier. During her five years of service she was stationed at NAS Miramar, Andersen Air Force Base in Guam, and her squadron frequently deployed to Japan and the Middle East.

She learned everything she knows about firearms and tactics from her police officer husband, who is a weapons expert, firearms instructor, and range-master for one of the most highly-respected law-enforcement agencies in the world (and one he wishes her NOT to disclose). She has three boys and spends her off-time (kidding...WHAT off-time?) reading, taking pictures, and sending lead down range (that's shooting, for those who are unfamiliar). One of her favorite scents is the smell of gunpowder in the morning....

Yes, it's my book Yes, I gave it five stars. However, every time I start to read it I get sucked in and wind up reading it through...AGAIN. I think Bear is my book-boyfriend-love-of-my-life, and if he was real my hubby already knows I'd leave him for my FBI agent, lol.Am I biased? You bet. Would I give it 5-stars if I didn't think it was worth it? Nope. I wouldn't rate it at all. But, since Amazon asked me to review my purchase I have. If you like getting caught up in suspense and romance and hot sex, RIGHT PLACE, RIGHT TIME will not disappoint. For those of you who take a chance and read this book, I'd love to hear your opinions, even if they completely differ from mine.

When a debut author releases their first book and it blows you away, you wonder if their sophomore book is going to do the same. I mean lightning can’t possibly strike twice, or can it? Right Place, Right Time does not disappoint. Leslie McKelvey has solidified herself as a fantastic author and storyteller. Her writing allows you to actually visualize what’s happening, like you’re in the middle of the action.

Two years. Two freaking years!!! That’s how long I’ve been waiting to read this book. However, for fans of Leslie, the wait was worth it. Right Place, Right Time is the follow up to Accidental Affair, but it can be read as a standalone.

Beth Drummond has met death and survived. She’s a photographer who’s following a mama bear and her cubs through Rocky Mountain National Park. She stumbles upon a quadruple murder and unknowingly captures the murders on film.

Ted “Bear” Bristol is an FBI agent who is taking a leave of absence after the death of a fellow agent. He just so happens to be in Rocky Mountain National Park, about to make camp when he hears gunshots. His interest is piqued when he realizes the shots are from guns that shouldn’t be found in a park setting. When he sees a woman running, he knows he must step in and help her; especially when he sees who’s after her.

Right Place, Right Time puts Bear and Beth on a collision course with one of Mexico’s largest drug smuggling cartels. Their lives are further put into danger when they realize the police and other agencies are out to get them because of bad information that was provided. Realizing there is a mole within the FBI, Bear is unsure who he can trust. What he does could lead to the deaths of both him and Beth, as well as their friends.

Leslie once again has written a strong hero and heroine who have the ability to balance each other out. She has managed to add just the right amount of romance but still deliver on the suspense side, with added events you won't see coming.

While Right Place, Right Time didn’t have me on the edge of my seat, afraid to turn the page like the previous book, it was still an engrossing read. Bear will forever be on my list of favorite heroes. I’m excited that there will be at least one more book in this series. I’m really looking forward to revisiting all the characters.

**Received a copy from the in exchange for an honest unbiased review. But I also bought the book personally.**

Wow. After reading Accidental Affair, I really wanted to find out more about Bear and was happy when this book was finally published. He was a secondary character in the first book, but he stood out and deserved to have his story told. Now, if only Bear was real! Want to meet a smoking-hot, hard-working, whip-smart FBI agent with a heart of gold? I DO! I know, sounds too good to be true, but the author makes him real. He has flaws, he has issues, he stumbles. But, he gets back up and keeps going. Not only did he win the heroine's heart, he won mine, too. Truly an engrossing read!
This book is the second in a series, but it can be read on its own. I have to say, however, that I enjoyed how the author brought in characters from the first book. It was nice to see how Laine and Jack had progressed in their relationship, and that they were still very close to Bear. It felt like reading about close friends or family. I was pulling for Bear and Beth to reach that happily-ever-after, and I wasn't disappointed. Now, for book #3 in the series!

I discovered Leslie McKelvey with her first novel, Accidental Affair and considered it to be one of my all time favorite romantic suspense novels. I have waited anxiously for her next book and was not disappointed. Her writing is crisp and clear; editing flawless; and her characters are fully developed. The action scenes are so descriptive that I felt myself on the run through the woods with Bear and Beth. We get to spend time with the friends from Accidental Affair (Jack and Laine) and it was nice to see them happily married. One of the great things about her writing is that she takes the time to tell her story completely, in a non-rushed manner. Too often authors rush the ending but Leslie gives us a complete and fully developed story. This is an author that you do not want to miss!

I was so excited to get to read the next book in this series. This book absolutely had me roped in hook, line and sinker. I literally could not put it down.
Beth just happens to be in the woods taking pictures of some wildlife when she witness something she was never supposed to see, and now she is on the run to save her when she literally runs into Bear who happens to be trying to forget his past and move on. Now they are both on the run. Will these two make it out alive and in love or will Bear push his feelings aside and do everything he can to keep her just as a witness? You must read this book to find out and I can promise you won't be disappointed

If you like Romance that is more about plot and characters than how often they get between the sheets, Right Place, Right Time is for you! Ms. McKelvey has crafted a book that is genuinely suspenseful and exciting. Beth Drummond and Bear Bristol are believable, fleshed-out people you can't help but like. The sexual tension between them is excellent and contributes to the plot rather than distracting from it. (Confession: I get bored pretty quickly if I have to page through seemingly arbitrary sex scenes to find out what happens next.)

This story moves at thriller speed so be prepared! Once you start the book, you won't want to put it down. McKelvey's writing is clean, straightforward, and a pleasure to read. It's the rare book that doesn't trigger my inner editor, so kudos to you Ms. McKelvey!
