Memories are important! With Rememory, you simply take a breath, draw three cards, and remember. Memories help people know you better—and they help you know yourself better too! |
Memory-based conversations can be hilarious and profound. Bond over dinners, dates, parties, and work. Cross generations and cultures. Share memories for a memorable game night! |
Your memories can be great prompts for free-writes, poems, stories, memoirs, autobiographies, biographies, essays, screenplays, novels, plays! Feeling stuck? Rememory can even help you tackle writer’s block. |
Memories can be the source for paintings, sculptures, and songs. Even small memories can illuminate the big themes of our lives and lead to meaningful, creative activities. |
Rememory is a great way to bring together families, friends, and co-workers– and Rememory is also an excellent icebreaker for people who aren’t any of those things. Teachers and writers can mine Rememory for writing prompts. Share family histories. Rememory can also be a fun memory-based storytelling game for family game night, improv, and travel.
Put down your phone and pick up Rememory. Take a breath. Draw one of each kind of card. Look at each card as you pick them, or look at them all at the same time. Each way feels a little different. The first way funnels you into memory. The second way lets memory sweep across you.
Rememory helps you explore memories, and sharing memories can help you communicate, write, and make art. A great gift for writers, teachers, storytellers, English language learners, artists, librarians, and all the thoughtful teens, friends, siblings, teachers, caregivers, parents, and grandparents in your life.
Hi! My name is Brian Mooney, and I made the first Storymatic for my college and high school writing classes. For a long time my students asked me to make more than one Storymatic, because they wanted to use it outside of class with their friends and families. After a few years of listening, I took their excellent advice.
Pretty soon after that, parents and teachers started asking me to make a kids version—also excellent advice! Not long after that, my poetry students asked when I would make a version about memory. Excellent advice yet again! Rememory is an easy way to access memories for writing, conversation, and art. Happy storytelling!

This game has helped rekindle a sense of “family” between my parents and I, we’re just a small family, who wouldn’t normally otherwise talk about anything other than banal details of the day or a little current events or politics.
We’re now “playing” Rememory every night after dinner, and I feel like it’s really bringing us closer together after all of these years. And it’s helping me, now an adult, connect with my parents in a way that I could not as a child by hearing all of their stories and interpretations of events from when they were younger.
I’m really grateful for the folks who decided to put Rememory together. It’s a low effort, meaningful way to help you (re)connect with your family.
We used a ski helmet as our "hat/repository" for the rememories.
Everyone agreed that we had fun and that we learned so much more about each other.
What I loved was that each person in the group got our undivided attention for a time while they discussed their "rememory" and answered questions.
Example: We learned that one of the men in our group likes listen to Vivaldi/Four Seasons when he is driving. We then downloaded and played Vivaldi for the rest of the night.
