Product Description

This ReliOn® humidifier filter features Honeycomb filtration to trap mineral pollutants found in water and help prevent them from entering your home and fits models RCM-832 and RCM-832N. The filter measures approximately 3 3/4 x 5 1/2 x 1 1/2 and has 2 filters per box. For optimum performance, replace filter at the beginning of each season or every 2 months depending on use. This is an aftermarket filter.

VERIFY that they are cut correctly before using. Dimensions are okay and they fit fine, however the material has a certain "grain" to it the must be correct to wick the water up correctly. It took me awhile to realize why my humidifier wasn't consuming water as quickly as it used to(and therefore humidifying the air). The "grain" needs to be oriented vertically rather than horizontally, otherwise it will not not allow water to wick completely through it and will only stay damp about halfway up. Had I noticed this sooner I would have contacted the seller for a replacement. Unfortunately for me I didn't notice until I changed the filter today and compared it to a new one. Live and learn. See the attached picture for reference. The top filter is new and cut correctly, while the bottom filter is what I just took out.

For those who only have experience with filter that comes "free" with the ReliOn's I was expecting pretty much the same thing -- a filter that after about a week you tried as hard as you could to not touch or move it as the whole thing just disintegrates in short order.

So I ordered like four boxes, each containing 2 filters. The first of these replacement filters has been in my humidifier that runs about 18 hours a day for over a month -- they are still strong, all in one piece, and I can wash them, extending their life. You can tell the difference in them, they are much heavier the the filter that comes with the original humidifier.

Stock up, good value.

These filters don't have the metal inside that the name brand or manufacturer filters have. But, truthfully we don't use my daughter's humidifier that much- except when she is sick. In that case, I noticed the filters would brown easily and we would have to replace them each time (maybe 3 or 4 times a year). These are only a couple dollars each so I don't mind using them for a week and then tossing them- the name brand ones were about three times the cost.

I always seem to get a LOT of static electricity every winter and thought I would use a humidifier to reduce the it. Well, it works like a dream to remove static from the air, but the filters are another story. I got this humidifier from someone (it was new and hardly used) so at first, I liked these filters but then 1 months later I did not like them. Why? Because they got moldy very quickly. We live in Southern Nevada - in the DESERT - I NEVER see mold here, EVER! I am a VERY attentive person and I make sure my products are working properly. I check the humidifier often (every 2 days or so) and keep it quite clean, always replacing the water on day 2. I clean it often with vinegar and changed the filters as well. I used it for 1 year fumbling with the filters more then every month until it stopped working altogether. In a nutshell, I guess it was a cheap product with less than desirable filters. I will have to find a better humidifier that has better filters because humidifiers really do keep the static in check during the winter.
