Based on a new cooking show, this book will give experienced as well as novice cooks the desire, confidence and inspiration to get cooking. Ramsay will offer simple, accessible recipes with a "wow" factor. Gordon has travelled the world from India and the Far East to LA and Europe, and the recipes in this book will draw all these culinary influences together to show us simple, vibrant and delicious recipes that reflect the way we eat today. For example: Miso braised salmon fillet with Asian vegetables, Pork and Bacon slider with home made bbq sauce, Curried Sweetcorn Soup, Wild Mushroom Risotto Arrancini, and Baked Lemon Cheesecake with Raspberries.
Each chapter will concentrate on a different area of cooking--from the classics to the secret of cooking with Chili and spice, through roasting, baking, and helpful sections on cooking good food for less and cooking for a crowd. Woven into the book will be useful tricks and tips--from ways to save time and money, to cleaning and prepping ingredients, to pan frying like a pro.
Stuffed full of delicious recipes, invaluable tips and lashings of Gordon's trademark cheeky wit, Gordon Ramsay's Home Cooking is the ultimate cooking lesson from the ultimate chef.

About the author
Scottish by birth, Gordon Ramsay was brought up in Stratford-upon-Avon, England, and initially aspired to be a professional soccer player but an injury put an end to that and led him to the kitchen. He's trained with some of the world’s leading chefs, such as Albert Roux and Marco Pierre White in London, and Guy Savoy and Joël Robuchon in France. At the age of 31, Ramsay set up his first wholly owned and namesake restaurant, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, which quickly received the most prestigious accolade in the culinary world – three Michelin stars.
Now internationally renowned, Ramsay has opened restaurants around the globe including in London, Las Vegas, Singapore, Baltimore, Europe and Dubai. Ramsay has also become a star of the small screen with hit shows in both the UK & US. From Gordon, Gino & Fred on ITV, Gordon Ramsay's Bank Balance on BBC to FOX's MasterChef, MasterChef Junior, Hell's Kitchen & 24 Hours to Hell and Back as well National Geographic's Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted which airs in 172 countries.
Ramsay has seen success in a variety of other ventures outside of restaurants and television including his online MasterClass, and Mobile Puzzle Game, "Chef Blast with Gordon Ramsay." This is in addition to his highly successful YouTube channel that has various cooking formats including his widely popular series "Ramsay in 10" & "Scrambled." Ramsay also loves to TikTok with his daughter Tilly.
In 2006, in recognition of all that Ramsay has contributed to the industry, he received an OBE (Order of the British Empire awarded by Queen Elizabeth II). Since then, Ramsay and his wife, Tana, set up the Gordon and Tana Ramsay Foundation in 2014, to make a meaningful difference to the London-based children's hospital Great Ormond Street.

Having been an avid GR fan for years now, and having indulged in eating at two of his restaurants, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try to challenge myself to make some of his delicious food. I am just a homecook with no prior knowledge or formal training in the kitchen. I have never worked in the food industry in any capacity unless a 1-week stint at Starbucks counts. In fact, I didn't even start cooking much of anything harder than ramen and scrambled eggs until my mid-20's (and I'm on the verge of turning 30 now). The fact that I've been able to learn so much and elevate my own abilities simply by reading and following many of the tips Gordon's included in this book and on the tv series has been kind of a gamechanger for me. I used to eat out TONS, but there's really little need to do so (except for the occasional quick bite or the indulgent dining experience) when I can simply throw something together that's super flavorful and intensely yummy just by following Gordon's instructions.
I've only tried a couple of the recipes out of this book so far, and though I have to make some substitutions here and there if I can't find a certain ingredient (and I live in an area where many culturally diverse foods would be fairly easy to track down, given the nature of ultra-picky/health-conscious/foodie Californian tastes). Each recipe has been a HIT! The boyfriend has loved each recipe, and I've basically been craving more of Gordon's Chile Beef Lettuce Wraps since I've had them. I've also been itching to make variations on his souffle...
The point is--even if you don't consider yourself a MasterChef, this book is easy enough to follow. There's definitely a marked Middle Eastern/Indian and Asian influence throughout the book, and a whole section on cooking with spices/chilies, but be adventurous! Try them all! I probably will.
